I took a nice little walk on this rainy and windy evening around my local neighborhood near Kita-Matsudo Station, just outside of Tokyo. I apologize in advance for any loud sounds from cars, the rain, or my struggle to fight against the wind. hehehe When I got home, my pants and jacket were totally wet from all the rain blowing around from every direction.
I've been meaning to film more night videos and I'm glad that this sort of low-light test turned out pretty decent. I'll try to film a lot of night videos when I have the chance to. I generally work until 10pm on weekdays, so my opportunities to film at night are low, especially if it requires traveling into Tokyo at night.

I didn't really care to spend a ton of time fixing the noise with ISO 1600 in some parts. The experience was fine to watch so I didn't fiddle with that at all. Only some minor color correction (vibrance/saturation) was added, plus a little sharpness.

Wow this walk was very therapeutic for me, I feel like if this was live it would’ve been better too . Walking in the rain and chatting with each other sounds really relaxing to me 😂

That's awesome, Chris! Hmmm... live would have been terrible, since I have to manage a scrolling chat via cellphone that doesn't have great low-light capabilities. Plus the wind sound would be *terrible*. hehehe But yeah, maybe one day I can do a live stream during a storm. Sounds kinda fun. hehehe

@@CoryMay81 The last time my husband and I and another couple were there was in 2018, and we lived for a month in Ueno (Taito), so, I must say, I have a soft place in my heart for that area of Tokyo. I also loved Ginza and even attended a Noh performance. I was probably the youngest person in the audience and one of only 2 westerners. It was amazing and totally unforgettable!

Some amusing moments and then some way cool parts to see like 40:48 to 41:20. Liked where white buildings take on the glow from lights. The rain hitting the puddles. The way the structures take on depth from shadow and lights is also satisfying. Lol the struggles show such dedication but yeah maybe do not go out in the wind and rain together. Hope you got warm after that.

Yes! I do plan on filming some mall tours, but probably not for another week or so. It's the Golden Week holiday right now so this entire week I have plans, and the malls are going to be insanely packed with people. I've got a list of places to film after this coming Thursday. Umbrella tech must advance! I could totally feel the pain, haha. I appreciate the sacrifice. Still, it's pretty cool and atmospheric during the nights. I only hate the windy rain when one is constantly wrestling with the umbrella and still getting wet, like you did. Note to self: invest on a sturdy quality umbrella before the rainy season...

What an absolutely beautiful walk. I love your umbrella and I think it added to the ambience. I’m sorry for your poor feet. I got a pair of waterproof shoes from academy a few years ago. Best investment as I can’t stand wet feet. Love this video, and thanks for sacrificing your comfort to share it!! Hope teaching is going well for you!

Thank you, Dannielle. When I got home, I realized everything was soaking wet: my jeans, my pants, my shoes, etc. Even my thick winter jacket, water soaked through to the inner pockets. I was surprised! hehehe But it was a fun walk and I'm glad you could enjoy it. I'll have to look into some waterproof shoes for rainy walks in the future. Cheers!

Love these videos! In this video and other walking videos I see posters with peoples faces on them and was wondering if they were political posters or real-estate agent posters like then you sell your house in the US.

It's a good question! Actually, these are the most common type of umbrella sold. You can find them in every convenience store, some supermarkets, etc. They're also just handy because in crowded places, it helps you see where you're walking and who might be coming towards you and whatnot. Very helpful. I don't ever want to use an opaque umbrella ever again. hehehe
