Are you curious about what a shopping mall in Japan looks like? Look no further! This video is a full tour of the LaLaport shopping mall in Shin-Misato, Saitama prefecture. It's a very big and nice shopping mall that has some outdoor and indoor sections. There are about 180 businesses located inside of this mall. IKEA and Costco are next door.
LaLaport is owned and operated by Mitsui Fudosan Commercial Management Co. They operate 16 different LaLaport malls around Japan, the biggest (and flagship mall) being the LaLaport Tokyo-Bay in Funabashi, Chiba prefecture. LaLaport Shin-Misato was opened in September 2009.
If you have any questions about anything you saw in the video, please let me know in the comments below! And if you have suggestions for future videos, please let me know as well.

I like you. Your awesome. I'm actually planning on relocating to Japan. I want the cultural change. American life has turned into something ugly. People are just not nice here anymore even smiling at strangers is looked at like your being rude. Which baffles me. So ive decided I'm moving to Japan.

@@MeganBoomershine-pf7iz Thanks. And yeah, the American dream seems to have died a long time ago or it got sidetracked very heavily by greedy politicians and corporations. It's so dangerous and overpriced. I think you'll find peace and happiness anywhere you go outside of the U.S.! Good luck with the move! If you want somewhere else to look at, consider Thailand, Korea, and Malaysia as well. Very nice people, nice culture, respectful and kind, etc.

It took me quite a long time to decide on Japan. I'm really interested in the way of life there and the folklore and the religious aspect of the temples. I just really want to be somewhere where respect is a way of life. And I'm more than happy to follow the cultural norms to fit into Japaneese society. I figured first I'm going to travle around then find a decent Akeria to buy and fix up and establish myself in a community. I love the idea of the lifestyle of country life there. And of course I love anime too lol. I am hoping to be there some time in the next year or two I'm still saving tho just so I have enough to do what I want and so I can survive until I find a job. I know some japaneese but am still learning. Have a great day and keep posting your awesome videos. Its like were shopping with you seeing everything you pick up and talk about thats really awesome about your channel. Thank you for that. I follow many Japan based youtubers and each has their own nitch and yours is just as cool as the others. Thank you for taking the time to show us around not just Japan but everywhere youve been since the channel started. That's awesome.

Awesome mall walk tour Cory thank you so much for taking the time to show us around I have malls like that where I live to but I live out in the country side so the malls are real far away from me which is unfortunate I used to live in Edmotnon Alberta where a place called West Edmonton Mall used too be the largest mall in the world I have an aunt that used to work there and you could sleep over at one of their hotel rooms which I did once it was awesome they have rooms specifically designed anyway Cory take care man thanks again looking forward to seeing more of your videos around Japan Stay safe and healthy out there 👍👍🆒🆒😎😎

5:12 This might be the same as rainbow drive-in on Oahu (Hawaii). That's the only thing I can think of.
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the name reminds me of Rainbow Drive In, and also L&L. But it's neither. They have Japanified versions of local Hawaiian foods, like Locomoco, etc. But it's so heavily modified and changed it's not even really Locomoco anymore. hehehe And I think the pancake and Hawaii craze is maybe influenced by MAC 24 in Waikiki. I could be wrong. I dunno. But $20 for Locomoco, fries or salad, and one malasada is just insane to me. LOL I miss legit 808 local kine grindz....

We have a Round 1 at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville. Obviously, you can play games and win prizes and tickets. Of what I remember, you can exchange the tickets for really cool prizes (there was a gorgeous model of a Saturn V rocket that I really wanted, but it costs a ton of tickets). For prizes from machines, there were Japanese plushies.

Hi Cory. I love the large mall walkthrough videos. Question: How is it that some of your videos (not the livestream walkarounds) are 4K and some like this one is only 1440p? Do you adjust the resolution depending on where you go?
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, usually I film in 4k but for really long videos I film in 2k instead, since it saves on battery life and memory space during filming. This was actually filmed in 4k but it was having weird rendering issues, so I changed it to 2k instead and that solved the rendering issue. 2k is still really nice looking for a walking tour, so I'm OK with it. Thanks for watching and asking this question!

Thank you for the mall tour. One thing I've always wondered about with those gacha places, what's the build quality of those items like? Like those toasters, do they actually work well or are they just plain junk?
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the tour, Simon! Like the water kettle in the claw machine? Uhmmmm, I'm going to go out on a limb and say they are of a cheaper build quality. If you realllllllly want a water kettle, it's better to just go to Nitori or an appliance store and buy a better one that might even have a warranty and receipt.

We pronounce Godiva (Godiver) in the UK named after Lady Godiva an 11th century anglo-saxon noblewoman here in England (not sure what she has to do with chocolate), I guess people may be used to seeing diva (as in pop diva) and pronouncing it as deva, wonders of the English language!

Yeah, it's possible to visit some figurine stores and find those same figures from the claw machine for a normal price. A lot of times cheaper than the amount of money you'd spend on the claw machines. I suck at playing them, so the only way for me to get the figures I want is to just pay for them. hehehe
