I've been in love with the "Batman Begins" soundtrack for a very long time. It's exquisite and so poweful! The original title for this piece is "Corynorhinus," which is a species of bats. But the alternate title is "Surveying the Ruins." Coincidentally, as I finished up this recording today, my husband and two older children were with 800 other volunteers in Midland, MI, helping to clean up from the massive damage caused by two dams failing on May 19. The one home they worked on had water up to about the 8ft level on their main floor, which left behind a foot of mud once it receded ( plus a toad, dead fish, and lots of nasty lake smell). The lake behind their house is completely drained. Their dock, swept away. "Surveying the Ruins" is sadly what many families in Midland are doing. Our prayers are with them.

That's awesome! Usually I create sheet music first in Finale and save that as midi to use for audio, video, or whatever. But sometimes I play a song directly into Ableton Live first to create the midi. I guess it depends on the song. @@dr.align2thrive119

@@RebeccaBelliston So I have been working on your arrangement and that jump on bar 92 to the B Flat and G chord definitely takes some practice. I've been experimenting playing that with the left hand since I already have it crossed over to play the G.

Hi there! I really loved this piece, I am very excited to start learning it soon… I know this is a long shot, but do you think you could possibly compose a piece from the same film, the track is called “Lasiurus”, from Batman Begins? I can imagine it being pretty hard to figure out on piano simply because of how much string is in that piece…. anyway, thank you!!! Love the music, keep it up!!!

Thanks! It's a fun one to play! I listened to "Lasiurus" on the way home last night, and forgot how beautiful that one is. You're right that the strings would make it different from a piano perspective, but I may give it a try anyway. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll let you know if I figure anything out. :)

Yes. I play it with two hands. There's a part with left hand cross-over towards the end. But still just two hands.

Thanks! I think they're all named after different species of bats. Corynorhinus, for example, is a big-eared bat from North America.

how is this writing in c major i thought c major scale was all white keys

This isn't in C major. This starts in F minor, 4 flats, and changes keys from there. Technically, the C major scale is all white keys but you can still have a song in C with black notes. Those notes would be called "accidentals.' But this song has lots of black notes included both in and out of the key signature. :) Hope that clears it up! Does it mention somewhere that it's in the key of C? If so, my apologies for the confusion.

I think there is a mistake/missing notes in the sheets. At measures 35, 36, and 37, there are three notes in the RH chord, and in the video, there are four with an additional Ab/F. Is that intentional, or is it intended to be played like in the video?

Thanks for pointing out the difference. I tend to play full chords in general, so I'll probably add the extra notes to the sheet music. Either way shouldn't change the sound of the measures too much because those notes are represented on the top. Personally, I do play the 4-note chords, though. Hope that helps! :)

No, sorry! I published the sheet music when I first released the video but a few months back, they changed the copyright restrictions on all arrangements from the Dark Knight trilogy, unfortunately. If it opens up again, I’ll be sure to post!
