My wife and I really enjoy watching "The Wheaties" on Wednesday evenings! In last night's video (04-12-23), I had a "Cringe Moment" during the air bag installation and watching the weight of the engine bend the upper control arm. Isn't that a formula for disaster when the "Mousetrap" hits the road?

They made a handful of big block V6s back in the 50s/60s. 305, 351, 401 and 478c.i. were the cubic inches made. Not sure how to tell which one you have though. Love your builds. Got sent over here about a month ago or so from Hardcore Fab Shop. Getting caught up on your videos.

Hi there Hannah and Cory! I thought should pass on a little info I got from an old timer regarding the model a rims. I build a 49 f-5 and used similar ford wire spoked rims. I used a spacer just like it looks like you guys did. I had about 1/4” gap between the drum surface and the rear surface of rim hub. He told me that those rim hub centers need to press up against a solid surface at the same time the rim hits the surface of the adapter where the lug nut holes in the rim are. This is so the spokes have support they need to keep the rim “true” when driving down rough roads. I had to chuck them up on the lathe and take 1/4” off the adapter. You might even be able to make a plate on the plasma table with a large diameter that bolts between the disc rotor and wheel adapter with your bolt pattern. I hope I explained that clearly for you. Maybe you already were aware of that but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to reach out! I love your projects! Keep up the awesome content!!!!!!

Corey, you can always if needed! Cap one end of pipe, fill with sand and pack it in then cap that end! It usually bends almost perfectly brother! Get it like you like it and let cool before you cut the ends off! Leave no air space for kinks in the pipe, just takes a little time Corey! I’ve had to do it at work because they didn’t want to buy the size die I needed, cheap employers! But it does work brother! Corey, I had always liked using the high cuff tig gloves! More comfortable and really soft and flexible brother!

Corey... Dude... You don't have to yell. LOL Yeah, it's funny to joke about PPE until you see somebody get hurt. I had a coworker who was grinding wearing a face shield AND safety goggles. Two pieces of red hot steel took the perfect bounce and lodged in his cornea and actually got melted in there. When you grind, you're getting pelted with millions of tiny metal shards and it's just a numbers game before one takes the perfect bounce. Like I said safety's a joke until you''re cleaning blood off the shop floor or sending a coworker to the Emergency Room.

My thoughts (although I've not finished the video yet), would be to take that bag-tower brace across the front, would be to cut it out, leaving a couple inches on each AB tower, then weld on a couple of 2-bolt 1/4" thick flanges, cut 1/2" off the cross bar, weld it all together, then bolt that support strut in. This will allow access to that crank pulley, without having to pull the engine, should you ever need to do maintenance in that area.. Just a suggestion.. We used to do this on chock towers on rock crawlers, where the tower strut went across the top of the engine, barely clearing the intake manifold. Then, you can pop out 4 bolts, and have plenty of access, should you need it.

You might want to look into making the cross bar over the engine & make it removable then you get the space back in front of the engine & you can probably mount your turbo on to the cross bar. Just a thought. Great work regardless. 👍🏼
