How about sodium gluconate(Jungbunzlaeur) as a natural alternative? My supplier tells me that it is a replacement for edta at half is concentration.

Yes, but you don’t really need it - none of the surfactants in iselux ultra mild cause scum, so it is not necessary to prevent scum, only if you want it in there for another reason. Learn surfactant chemistry in detail in our Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science, Certificate in Advanced Hair Formulations or Diploma of Personal Care Formulation.

Hi Belinda, thank you for this video...you say, we should not use chelating agent in some clay formulas....in the CCF Program we can make Clay/Charcoal Masks only with Chelating Agents, because the CCF Program don`t allow to "Generate Method" without Chelating Agents....... You have 2 Clay Masks Videos (Pink Clay Mask and Green Clay Mask) with Chelating Agents, too......What is the different, and what do you mean with "some" clay...? You should not use chelating agents with zinc oxide in sunscreens; but they are a great addition to clay masks. It is not sufficient, just like citric acid used to adjust pH provides a small chelating action but not sufficient where chelation of actives or other ingredients is a concern. EDTA is not toxic to humans; it is not so good in our waterways however, in large quantities. In small quantities like that used in personal care, considering the amount used and thrown down the drains in household cleaners, it is not a big issue either. Far more goes down the drain from other applications than in personal care products.

@@theinstituteofpersonalcare6401 Hello and thank you for sharing the information. Do you reckon it wouldn't be an issue for water life even if it is in all my skincare products ( 5 ish)? My concern is due to the position of disodium EDTA in the list of the ingredients. Usually I do not worry if it is very low, but in this case it's in the middle of the formulation 🤔 ... Help🥺! And thans😆🌈!
