this a rare video that makes me actually, legitimately cry when i type in that i am crying. the worst part about genyas death though was that he had to die like a demon, which left no body to bury and be mourned and was a dishonor to his character and the fact that nemi had to feel him slip away didnt make it better. this video just compacted all those feelings into 2 mins and im not okay

His death was so sudden. So shocking. He didn't even have time to get a deeper character developement, but he was, in the middle of it, y'know? Just like Rengoku. Not always life lets you fullfy your own developement. It's almost as if, being a manga and all, we were hoping for a good ending, but it snapped back into reality. That shit hurt like crazy. I wasn't able to watch this video. I cry everytime because it hit me too hard, and it's really, really rare that I cry for a fictional event.

The character development of Genya is amazing. From being a jackass to a total badass and managing to beat upper moon 1 with the other pillars this guy became my favorite character when he appeared in the blacksmith town.

i just have to say this rn, i’ve unironically watched this animatic at least 20 times if not more. it’s one of my favorite videos on the internet, ever, literally 0 exaggeration there. i’ve sent this to at least seven of my friends, i’ve downloaded it and deleted it again, come back to the original video. sometimes i think about this very randomly like ‘wow it’s been a while since i watched the shinazugawa brothers animatic’. the way your portray the relationship between genya and sanemi, the way they grow apart and find together again, the way they spend the time they’re divided discovering themselves and becoming someone is so haunting in a beautiful way. i especially can’t stop thinking about the part of sanemi with all the pillars (especially giyuu, kanae and rengoku) and genya with gyomei and inosuke. i literally can’t describe what emotions those parts ALWAYS awaken in me, especially considering their fates in the story. it never fails to make me wonder - what could’ve been? what relationships could’ve developed? what potential are we missing out on? it’s insane how well you managed to capture the entire relationship between everyone in just a single picture. i don’t even know where i’m going with this, just wanted to say this is a literal, actual work of art that always leaves me speechless.

i'm not the sure what torn me up more, the actual death or Sanemi's breakdown. Seeing him get so emotional when he realizes that he's going to lose his brother, his only family left broke my insides. The whole chapter was just a big roller coaster. (╯︵╰,)

Even though he wasn't a big part of the series I just couldn't handle it when he died. It's just a manga series, I know, but it hit me so hard. I cried while reading the chapter. Especially the part where sanemi held genya in his hands all teary regretting what he had done to his brother. Genya will forever remain my favourite chrecter from demon slayer :)

These two boys have been through so much, Sanemi quickly became a huge comfort character for me and so did Genya. Their story hits home for me and it broke me, they both deserved so much more and how their story ended is devastating. This animation is beautiful! It’s broken me but it’s beautifully sad, that hug at the end I can’t even put into words how it got to me

honestly sanemi is my favorite, his character design is so badass but his backstory and growth are just so good. and that scene killed me. i also feel like me and my sister are kinda like him and genya because we don't get along and don't ever talk, but if something happened to her right now i would lose my mind and would feel so bad because we never got a chance to reconnect :(
