Lyrics:
Hey ho, where did you go?
Did you wriggle or roll?
Did you giggle or grumble through?
Tom Thumb, from where did you come?
Did you toddle or run?
Did you skip, trip or stumble through?
Go down, let’s go down, lets go down,
Don’t you want to go down and wriggle on?
Have a sing along, put some pickles on and play the Mellotron.
Go down, let’s go down, lets go down,
Don’t you want to come down and wriggle on?
Count to twenty-one, and go and right a wrong,
And feed the pelicans.
Say there, the jug or the hare?
The lift or the stairs?
Which will it be for you?
How now big brown cow?
The bow or the bough?
The spade or the plough for you?
Go down, let’s go down, lets go down,
Don’t you want to go down and wriggle on?
Have a sing along, put some pickles on, and play the Mellotron.
Go down, let’s go down, lets go down,
Don’t you want to come down and wriggle on?
Count to twenty-one, and go and right a wrong,
And feed the pelicans.
But where will we go
When the bell it tolls for me?
Both you and I know
When it tolls well it tolls for thee?
But where will we go
When the bell it tolls for me?
Both you and I know
When it tolls well it tolls for thee.

Cosmo Sheldrake makes the type of music that sounds like something you would hear off a record you found perfectly dry in a fancily designed ivory box, at the bottom of a probably enchanted pond that you discovered while walking in the woods, during that time of year that is most certainly now spring, but still carries small traces of winter. You swore you saw some odd figure in that forest, painted a million colors with fading old dyes and adorned with a mask of rich wood. You don't know if you really saw him, but you most definitely heard him. His laughter sounded like wind chimes and bird song.

you look to your side. a little wooden cat wanders around a desk cluttered with designs and unfinished work. a playful, warm laugh comes from the toymaker as you watch bronze birds fly onto his shoulders. mechanical clicking and wooden tapping comes from everywhere. colors fly around the room, highlighting the small machines and dolls horsing around. the toymaker takes your hand and you feel as though the world has gotten better. everything is moving at once, and you hear the melody of a familiar song getting louder.

I saw him perform this live in Bristol. This was the very last song he did and nearly every one of us were shouting "Wriggle! Wriggle!" So when he finally said he was going to do this song... I got so excited that I screamed in a nearby girl's ear... eheheh... No harm done though! But is was so awesome seeing him live! I can't get over how good the improvs were, and how he was clearly enjoying himself the whole way through. I would definitely do it again if I ever get the chance! This makes me think of childhood, walking barefoot along a stream, rays of sunshine hitting the ground around me through the tall, green leaves. Everything seemed so big and new and magical. As a child, I was the leader of our group of friends. A group of 5 2nd grade girls and boys. We’d travel along the stream, watching the colorful fish swim by. I can practically see their faces when I close my eyes. Freckles apparent from the sunlight, eyes shining with awe as if nature around us was something truly amazing. Not much can take you back to the feelings you felt as a child. That simple feeling of joy, as if you flowed through the wind, trees, and sunlight that you got the pleasure of seeing. This music makes me remember those feelings. That is something extremely special. I will hold this song in my heart.

Sometimes I hear a song and I end up associating a word with it. The word that goes to everyone of your songs is ‘spinning’ Like you’re in some magical world that’s so small and spinning so fast you can feel it turning.

I do the same with a lot of music, and when I hear the moss, and a lot of his other songs, I get “mystery” like a story that has a clear outline, but has yet to be filled in. With every song, I feel obligated to put a story to it. I am actually starting a comic that his songs inspired me to make.

This song heavily reminds me of my childhood for some reason, especially when it nears the end. It reminds me of how when I was little I would walk through our stream, going as far as I could until I reached the collapsed trees, usually stopping so that the curious fish could swim around my legs, quickly bolting away the moment I briefly moved my legs. I remember how in the boiling summer I'd lie down in the water and let all the small fish swim around me, my curly blonde hair getting completely soaked in the cold water. My mom always complained about me smelling like the stream and having twigs and leaves in my tangled hair, but I never cared enough to stop doing it. Sometimes I'd go out with my wooden sword that my grandfather had crafted for me, swinging it around and pretending that I was a knight fighting off dragons and goblins. I used to also run beside our horse Loki, but as soon as she began to go quick I'd always trip or slow down behind her. I remember having so much fun with her.

OK, OK, I'm going insane. Last night I saw the official music video for this. It was super trippy, it had dancing sunflowers doing plies in unison and pirates and a sousaphone. It was all in that creepy old VHS style. I can't find it anywhere today. Did I dream it all up? Was it all in my head?? Has anyone else seen this video???

These songs sound like a forest, mud, swamps, moss, plants, ponds, a spiral in trees or something else. You saw something in this woods as mushrooms pop up and those types mushrooms explode. Water is shooting up from gazors as well as you wonder farther down in the forest and look at mossy logs. I don't know how to describe it but it's lovely.

I love how all of his music sounds like something a dci band would play as their pre show. Idk it’s just the ensemble of the woodwinds and the auxiliary’s creative sound effects it’s just so unique and interesting and I love it

I know I am late for this. I only just started listening to Cosmo Sheldrake for a week now, and I absolutely love it. It's much better than the rap 'music' crap that they are making now. This particular song makes me imagine this: You are walking in the woods, and you see a strange figure standing in the middle of a clearing. Every movement he makes is a sound, a note. He is covered in the colors of laughter and music, and he seems to be filled with joy. As you watch, hidden behind the treeline, he starts to dance, intricate sounds and music following him as he goes, spinning around and laughing. Strange creatures show up in many shapes and sizes, joining in. Even the trees are dancing as he sings along to the music of his movements. The air is shimmering with magic, and they form a crown for him, and place it on his head. He is their king, the ruler of the wood. You feel like you are intruding, but also, there is an almost ancient feeling tug in your gut, telling you to join him and his creatures, to dance and sing, to join in with the laughter, and you do, and they accept you with open arms. You become a creature of the wood, free and running.
