When you're trying to find out whether grocery shopping at Lidl is cheaper in France or in the Netherlands, stopping by the UK, Spain and Finland... and when you're not happy with the outcome!

Fun! I was surprised by Finland. France has so many regulations, and of course living here, the higher cost doesn't surprise me. Although the vegetables especially have increased in price. I think more and more people may go back to planting their gardens. I know I am 🙂 Just planted asparagus and strawberries, and purchased my vegetable seeds. (I found a great French seed source.)

These prices are considered a bargain compared to the US. As a dutchie I've been living there for 30 years when it was still cheap, not anymore, prices are out of control for everything.

Surprising, I would have thought france would be a big grower of produce, much more so than Finland.

I find in Spain the choice isn't as good as the UK and the prices aren't that cheap in Spain .

Thanks for telling me how expensive the UK is comparing to other European countries. Add housing (lots of money for poor quality), cars (state of the roads and lack of public transport make owning the car necessary and expensive to run) and most of all rubbish weather. Not sure why we are still here.
