NOTE: this was recorded before we could dine out in groups of 2 in Singapore.
I break down what the costs of living in Singapore are for me as a tech millennial in her late 20s. My cost of living has been adjusting since coming from San Francisco, one of the most expensive cities to live in.
Note: this is not how everyone in Singapore spends money, but this is what suits me at the moment.

Wow, 40 Bucks for cleaning lady is a steal. We paid 80 for someone to clean our house here in Toronto. I agree, you get more and save more living in Singapore than overpriced Bay Area.

sg is ranked most expensive city in world every year, unless you dont mind live like 80% singaporeans who also live in public housing HDB (crowded), take bus and mrt (cramped, squeezed), eat at hawker centres (noisy crowded hot sweaty) ... gov official stats for minimum cost of living is before covid sgd1473, now after covid all things and prices jump up sharply,

Is tipping frowned upon in Singapore? I noticed you said you tipped the cleaner.
@TheFangGirl
@TheFangGirl 2 жыл бұрын
It’s not customary to tip, but our cleaner does a good job and she juggles various jobs. Her rate is lower than market too and don’t want to find another person, so we just leave it as that :)
