We just filled up 3 in our local area we try to do it at least once a month. In one of the areas (the more urban area) I was actually surprised that after I filled it up a lady came over and knocked on my car window before I pulled away..she lived across the street and said she watched me fill up the box and wanted to thank me because she sees people go to the box for food and the community needs it. She sells leggings and gave me a pair as a thank you. It was so sweet I almost cried.....and I was also a little weirded out that someone was watching me the entire time and I did not know it....I apparently need to get better at situational awareness....LOL These blessing boxes are becoming more and more important to help those struggling around us.

I try to put stuff in our blessing box. Around Christmas I do sacks of little toys, dinosaurs and cars, bottom of the toy box size that can be given as small gifts. I also do cake , muffin, and cookie mixes in case someone needs to bring a dessert to a party. At Easter we put in plastic eggs with candy and toys. Every child should get to hunt eggs. Also before major holidays I buy spices like onion powder and garlic powder, salt, pepper, sugar, canned milk and other of the most basic pantry items. From experience, I know that those sorts of items were too expensive for our family. It was a treat to buy a new bottle of some sort of spice like ginger or vanilla.

I remember once when my sister - now deceased x 6 yrs and husband were on vacation in the Smoky Mountains. He really wanted to have lunch in a sit down restaurant but the Holy Spirit told her no- there is a homeless family with children at Burger King. Go there ,buy the family meals- extra 4 meals plus hers and husbands and give them enough cash to buy a dinner meal. She wasn’t a talker, was obese and wanted to question the Holy Spirit but she did exactly what was asked. She knew immediately which family when she walked in- bought them meals and gave the Father $100. She was blessed with a free night at hotel, discounts on purchases at gift and souvenirs store, plus much more. When we are faithful and obedient to His demands- He rewards us

❤The city we live in has many churches that give to the hungry. Our rent for our apartment has doubled in rent in 5 years. We would love to move but don't because it's so expensive everywhere in the area of my husband's jobs. All the houses are purchased by contractors to flip. The neighborhood we did like has doubled in property value. I have been sick 2 years with long standing Covid. I am not supposed to be around people or I could contract Covid again. We totally depend on my husband's earnings. Thank you for providing us some ideas on cooking meals on a tight budget. We are lucky we live where if we need to we can go to churches for help with food. We don't want to, we would rather be giving not receiving. We are praying for God to restore my lungs so I can work again. We are praying for the economy, for no one to lose jobs and for prices to decrease especially for food. Thank you Brooke and your family for having a giving heart. Many people have no empathy for the poor. ❤

this is so awesome of you to do. There is a food bank here but I'm in a wheelchair at the moment due to a below the knee amputation and I'm doing physical therapy to learn how to walk again with my prosthetic leg and on the days I have physical therapy and I'm exhausted from it, it would be so nice to have a quick and easy meal to throw in the oven or cook on the stovetop. I'm relearning how to do pretty much everything I never gave much of a thought about before this happened but I thank God everyday that He allowed me to make it through this and He gives me the strength I need to get through the tough days of my recovery. When I finally can walk somewhat normally again, I am going to go shopping and take a whole bunch of stuff to the local food bank. You have definitely inspired me in more ways than I can count. God bless you and your family. You are such a good, sweet kind person to do something like this. I believe there is a special place for you in Heaven

The wonderful thing about the blessing boxes is people can go and take what they need and not be embarrassed because they can't afford food. God bless you for doing what you can.

I loved this video. You are so passionate about food insecurity. I thought I’d share an idea for later on in the year. For advent (I start the last week of November) instead of an advent calendar I do an advent box. Every day I take an item from my pantry and put it in a box (any tinned items or dried food). When I have 24 items I take it to my local food bank. People are so grateful and I feel really good x

You and your family are amazing. What I love *most* about this is how you’re instilling these values in your kids. They’re empowered and a part of this. The world needs wonderful people like you and your family AND those that gave to this cause. Bless you all!❤

I was shocked by the price of potatoes while doing my grocery order yesterday also. God bless you and your family. You may give your viewers credit for sending the money. But you and your family did all the leg work. You are awesome ❤️

There’s a rise in demand for potatoes globally, so the US has been exporting them, and it’s causing the price of them to rise. So much for “potatoes are the food of the poor,” huh? I guess we need to switch to other starch substitutes like rice, pasta, cauliflower, beans, quinoa and the like. 🙂

Apples in my area are insane I am practically going bankrupt keeping my 6yr old Apple habit alive...lol This child will eat the apple all the way down to the core then suck on the core like people suck on chicken bones....its the craziest thing I ever seen but its fruit so I don't complain.

I think it’s pretty amazing that you hand wrote all of the directions. You could’ve just printed them on the computer, but the handwritten recipe is just special. Thanks for your effort.

You’re so awesome Brooke, you are a blessing and an inspiration to the community around you, but also to your wider audience. You inspired me, we are now donating to our blessing boxes.I would encourage anyone to help when and how you can, it’s a small thing we can do, but a big thing to a struggling family who desperately need it. God bless you and your family for all that you do. 🙏🏽🌹🕊️🥰 p.s. I’m seeing that all the food should probably be donated to the food bank, so that they can see to it that it is distributed fairly.

Pls do donate. Our church sponsors one and it is getting harder and harder to find the food to affordably fill it. Look through your pantry and see what you can give and when you see a great sale, pick up some stuff for your neighbors!

Bless you Brooke and your family and the lovely subscribers who sent you the money!! And when you are shopping I know you kind of focus on families. Bur please remember senior citizens on social security. As a senior citizen I get a social security deposit. But between bill, rent and other things that come up, there are months that after the bills are paid I don't have much money left for groceries. I have a pantry so I won't starve but I'm sure there are other senior citizens who don't have much food or money at the end of the month. As they say in the mil, "Too much month at the end of the money." Thank you for your entertaining videos and for having such a big heart!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
