How cheap is it to travel Sri Lanka? Sri Lanka is CHEAP! But how much does it really cost to live, retire or travel in Sri Lanka in 2024?
Sri Lanka is a budget-friendly, adventure lover’s paradise- and the most underrated destination in Asia! I tracked all of my expenses for 3 weeks while traveling around the hotspots of Sri Lanka like Columbo, Hikkaduwa, Weligama, Marissa, Yala National Park, Arugam Bay and Ella. In today's video I'll share exactly what it cost me to spend 3 weeks in Sri Lanka as a foreigner. I will also cover the average costs of food, accommodation, transportation, toiletries etc.

one the biggest mistakes of my life is choosing Bali over Sri Lanka. Well, the airline website kept failing to book my flight to Colombo. And I made the stupid assumption, that it was fate telling me to go to Bali. While Bali is paradise... I’d still find Sri Lanka more exotic. (There will be another time).

We have been to Sri Lanka four times and our holidays there were all wonderful experiences. Yes it’s very affordable, varied accommodation choices and the food is delicious. Our experience in Yala National park though …..was absolutely dreadful. I guess it was a busy July day and jeeps were everywhere! Many drivers would not turn off their jeeps and we’d be left, listening to their engines and not nature. It was such a frustrating experience that we asked to be returned to the main town and end the trip early. We have been on jeep safaris in Africa which were breathtakingly beautiful… but sadly our Yala experience was very disappointing. We expected to be out in nature but sadly we were overwhelmed by jeep traffic & noise. Beyond this only one negative experience .. (in four trips there) we LOVE Sri Lanka because of their warm, hospitable, welcoming people. Sri Lanka may be close to India but it is NOT India. From our travels …best time to visit Sr Lanka would be for the festival held in Kandy called the Esala Perahera. Check it out on KZfaq. An absolutely stunning display of culture, dance, music and celebration of faith. We were hoping to return to Sri Lanka this coming summer 2022… but the country is in major major political and economic chaos now: it is sad to see this beautiful country falling to its knees ….as the world has seen happen in Myanmar with the military take-over last year. Two beautiful countries have been turned upside down. Out thoughts and prayers are with the people of Sri Lanka & Myanmar. We miss your hospitality and kindnesses. Hold strong.

@@PortableProfessional I mean technically you could film those places now and Then after Lockdown I'm getting suspicious as to whether lockdowns will end at all it's coming up on a year of this stuff in Britain. If I take a positive attitude then it will end it in March this year. You guys have the Pfizer and moderna Vaccines over in Canada the roll-out seems inefficient on The liberal party of Canada's part.

Updates about traveling Sri Lanka since 1st of October 2021. If you are fully vaccinated there are no quarantine and you can travel around the country 😊

Hi, I am Vietnamese and I did not appreciate you saying you didn’t like my country. I understand tourists will have opinions, but please keep it to yourself. My country has had a broken past and lots of war trauma and it’s best if you could keep it to yourself as it felt like a slap in the face for you saying you did not like my country. So, you want travel influencers to NOT give their opinion of a country? I will give you a half way compliment about Vietnam; I went there recently with the intent to stay for a year or two, until I found out I would have to leave the country every 3 months for a visa run, that was unacceptable to me. I only saw Ho Chi Minh City, which was my second mistake. While there were some things I liked about it, I didn't know how big a city it was, I didn't like that part too. I also would say Vietnam is nice, the beach side cities might be great if you don't mind the visa runs. Hows that?

From What I read every where regarding travel to Sri Lanka. Currently you need to Quarantine no matter if your PCR positive or Negative Tested. Even if you had the Vaccine you still need to Quarantine at a designated Hotel for 14days in Sri Lanka. My main questions are: 1. When will the restrictions be lifted for no needing to be quarantined for 14 days for Foreigners travelling to Sri Lanka? 2. How soon will things be relaxed and all restrictions lifted for all visitors to travel and visit as normal to Sri Lanka?

This information is no longer accurate. There's NO quarantining and NO need for pcr if you are vaccinated and tested negative at the country of departure. Sri Lanka welcomes all tourists and travellers with open arms

Great for a holiday but not for retirement .. too bad such a paradise.. foreigners are all millionaires in the locals' eyes and many very aggressive scammers.. are emboldened to kidnap you in a tuk-tuk and empty your bank account selling you worthless jewels .. .. women alone are often stalked .. it is very poor .. and no one talks about the dangers .. the people are mostly very honest .. but tourist areas you will be targeted and harassed .. living there is a time bomb ..maybe if you live of in the countryside it will be OK .. just remember cheap rent can be a trap ..
