I hope you enjoy this #travel vlog of my experience in #Tamarindo, Costa Rica 🇨🇷 This is not at all sponsored, yet 😉
THE COSTA RICA RESTRICTIONS AND RULES:
I had to fill out the official travelers form to enter the country. At the time of my trip, a covid test was NOT needed for entry, I still got one just incase. However, a test WAS needed to be able to return to the U.S. Be sure to look up the most updated official information prior to your trip!
Here are some good videos detailing the (current) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
1. • Costa Rica Travel Insu...
2. • Everything You Need To...
WYNDHAM HOTEL IN TAMARINDO:
I personally thought it was great, they offer: a shuttle bus running every 30 mins which takes you to the central restaurant area 5-10 mins away. I paid extra for the breakfast package, it's the same meal shown, everyday. The pool is open quite late (10/11pm) compared to other places I've been. You get free access to the #LangostaBeachClub as shown, as well as the cabanas. They also had live entertainment on some nights. You can also book excursions right from the hotel I believe.
SCHEDULE YOUR COVID TEST IN ADVANCE 2-3 DAYS BEFORE YOU LEAVE:
Make sure you schedule an appointment at a clinic for your #covid tests to return, either the same day u get there or the next day. I used GOOGLE TRANSLATE (super necessary if you don't speak Spanish) to help me translate some words in order to ask taxi drivers where the clinics were and to take me to them. When I tried to get the test the day before my flight, all appointments were booked, then I had to wake up super early the day of my flight to try again, luckily we found a place close to the Liberia airport. Still, it was too much anxiety just waiting 4 hours for the results vs. scheduling it early and just enjoying your trip while the results are emailed to u.
ADVENTURE TOUR (ZIP LINE, HORSEBACK RIDING, WATER TUBING, HOT SPRINGS:
Website: www.guachipeli...
Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin (I booked through Wyndham)
10/10 experience, the entire crew was so amazing, Shoutout to Ronny! We were able to leave our belongings on the van throughout the day without worrying about safety. The pictures and videos they took were great. Each activity is actually a long experience, which is better than it being too short, you will feel like you're getting your money's worth.
Some things to bring with you if you do this tour or a similar one:
-Waterproof phone pouch, with the neck string!!! That way you can choose to bring your phone if desired
-Headphones, that van ride is so long
-Water shoes, I wore mine for the whole day
-A portable charger (if you plan to film/use your phone a lot, but there's no service anyway lol)
-Change of clothes, I also brought flip flops for the ride back
SUNSET BOAT RIDE:
It was an okay experience, the views were nice (but like I said, everywhere just looked dry lol) and I met cool people, but compared to other boat rides I've been on it was not top notch. It's extremely windy during the ride, and there's only one chance to swim for 15/20 mins. There was an "open bar" but the drinks were beyond trash! Because I wasn't sold I did not get the boat info, but I'm sure you can look for similar experiences.
Overall, the trip was amazing!!!! The FOOD at the different restaurants were so good!!!!! Definitely recommend visiting #CostaRica 🇨🇷

Please, if u come to Costa Rica, wear a mask when u are doing group activities so that you can keep enjoying them. With Delta variant it can get really bad since tourists tend to bring in more cases and spread it. We all can have fun being safe at the same time.

Costa Rica is awesome, I went a few weeks before you did. You should put the effort in to learn Spanish… def worth it You were in the Northwest Guanacaste during dry season so it’s gonna be dry and dusty. Check more south and it turns into rain forest.

i liked your vlog! but there are a few things that you should know you went only to Guanacaste, Over 80% of Costa Rican’s live in the city yes our cities have tall buildings, rush hour, chain restaurants and stores and nice houses most people in the country are middle class and live in bigger houses, than people in provinces like guanacaste in which most of the people are poor. In rural provinces such as guanacaste and all the other costal provinces people tend to be poorer due to lack of job opportunities that do exist in thre country’s metropolitan area

I wore my swimsuit under my clothes since they weren't sure which activity would be first. Thankfully when I went it was: zip lining, horseback riding, water tubing and then hot springs. That’s awesome, right outside of the Liberia airport I negotiated with the drivers and it was around $70 U.S. because it is a long drive (an hour and change) You can choose to set up transportation with the hotel but with Wyndham it would’ve been $80 and up. So just check the price first.

Also by tourists going only to places like guanacaste, the stereotypes of Costa Rica are simply proven right; poor people, all there is is forest, super small towns. this may be somewhat true in these areas of the country but on the rest not really

other thing that you should know is that going to resorts in guanacaste is really bad, you should rather stay in locally owned hotels or Airbnbs , Guanacaste dosent have much water because of its dryness so these resorts use all the available water leaving a lot guanacaste locals without water. These resorts have been damaging the areas nature and wildlife, paying below minimum wage salaries to their workers, and avoiding taxes, they will tell you the dont do that and that they care a lot about the environment the obviously dont! closing up beaches wich is illegal cause in Costa Rica all beaches should be public etc. now note that people in the rest of the country do have access to clean tap water because the rest of te country is less dry.
