Thanks for the heads up and watching. Few years later and the pavilion is still holding strong. I added a video on adding their new gutter system to it as well.

I used wood filler and resealed it in the spring. It still sprung new cracks or reopened where I glued back up. Otherwise it seems to be holding up well

Personally I would wait. They go on sale frequently. You have to get them in store though for the discounts. The price difference is mainly in shipping vs pickup.

I based my decision off water flow off it towards my house. Sometimes I regret my decision.... until it rains. Lol. Either or are a solid choice though.

Overall I still think it is a great value. The wood is a little cheaper, and splits easily and the stain is pretty weak, but their customer service is great and it does what it needs to do.

We got a very mild winter this year, so I cannot day for a solid /heavy snow. Otherwise it helps up find though.

Gary Newman Jr it stays plenty shady. Certain times of the day when the sun is going down you get blasted a little more from the one side. Can always put up a sun shade. It has not bothered us enough yet to do that, but we may consider it if it does. They sell like 10’ roll up shades at Home Depot and Lowe’s.

I don’t think the metal has anything to do with the cracking.

I haven’t been out in awhile as it’s been cold, but my guess is yes it will. The best way I can describe it is like when you park your car after a drive on a hot day and you hear your cats making that ticking noise when they cool down. It is not as persistent as that, but to me it can get annoying when it’s super quiet otherwise. I have ADHD, and anything like that when I am studying under the Pavillion will throw me off and then I focus on that. That being said, I have been in contact with the President of Yardistry . I will try to ask him about his thoughts on this next time we talk. It’s not terrible, but again I am a little “special” in my own ways. Lol. So stuff bothers me more than it would most.

Yardistry actually has their own gutters coming out. I will be getting a set to demo.

@@PMPerformance I've seen in one video that there is some slight leaking from the roof during "heavy" rain....have you experienced that? In the messages below, one suggested putting beads of sealer along the roof panels as you install to keep that from happening. thoughts?

@@morghulkale4112 I have not noticed any leaking from the roof, but yes you could seal if you did. I will say the connectors for the downspouts have come loose a few times since just pressure fit. One of these days I will seal those points up.

It is holding up great. I will probably need to restain it again, but great! I will have a video up in a few weeks showing the install of their gutter system on it, so stay tuned

@@PMPerformance That's great to hear. I'm assembling mine this week from Costco. I pre-sealed the wood before assembly, so hoping it holds up well. Appreciate the video.

@@robertnamba I think they say to wait like 3 months before resealing, but I’m sure it will be fine. You will enjoy it. Other than the need for gutters, we absolutely love ours

Holding up great! Not a lick of issues with it and absolutely recommend this unit and the manufacturer!

Pretty sure any water based stain is ok. I sanded mine down a bit and washed it good before restaining. I can check to see what I used if you like. Mine turned out pretty good.

@@SundarKothandaraman if you call them, they tel you the exact brand and code for the factory matching stain. I chose to go a little darker.

akcream I do. I am getting some pieces replaced due to cosmetic issues, but I may keep them as backups and just fill with wood filler. The stain that is on it is pretty weak. Deff plan to restain within 6months. All in all, still a good buy.

I don’t. If I did, it would be bolted down. I have seen some pretty crazy winds and it hasn’t moved though. It’s mostly due to where it’s installed and how air flows through it being a pavilion.

WINNING how is stain going to peel like the wood is coming off? I know it is stained from the factory. Not stained very week, but it is. Stain doesn’t peel off, it just breaks down. I can certainly tell the difference in the areas where the stain has broken down and the parts where the wood is having issues. And yes, there are Many fine cracks in it. I will likely be using some wood filler in areas before I restain it this spring

@@Executiveinvestments- So since you wanted to be a douchebag and question me. I went out and peeled back some of that "stain" that you think it is, and chunks of wood pulled out. So looks like I am not as much of an idiot as you think? ;) That being said, I am not sure how a water based stain will do what i am seeing. Then again, I am not a professional wood worker or professional contractor like yourself.

I have contacted Yardistry to show them what you are calling me out on and they confirmed this is an issue and will be sending me the new pieces to replace the defected pieces with. Care to want to call the manufacturer names and question them now too?
