First, destroy your starting enemy and confederate the dwarves that will offer it in event. I know it'll set you back in grudge confederation with main factions, but you can get an almost full army when you can't afford to recruit it, and they have a grudge thrower as well. Declare on Aranesa from the start, and after wiping out her initial army and taking the capital of the faction she had wiped out, declare on skaven and wipe it out while Vampire Coast recuperates. Capture Skavenblight and at that point, you've got enough money to start building up 2nd army but slowly, use the lord with which you've not killed Ikitclaw to kill him again when he respawns to get another research boost, so you would be in 20% boost at that point. Your only threat now is the beastmen, who will inevitably declare on you, so make sure Skavenblight is well-stocked as you progress east. Continue to destroy Aranesa and then turn your eyes eastwards, because both Warzag and Skrag will be destroying the Border Princes and they'll inevitably make their way to you. Sell all the towns you've captured from Vampire coast to Princes to prolong their demise, leading their enemy into your reach, as well as getting some nice cash, as the temperate climate is not good for dwarves anyway, but it is fine for humans. It goes swimmingly after that.

@@jshadowhunter sweet will give it a try. What units and buildings should I go for though? Belegar doesn't have any really good starting units besides the heroes. That second army has some warriors, two Quarrelers, and a Grudge Thrower but that is not really enough to carry me. 2 Rangers and 2 Quarrelers is just not much to work with. Also I assume Aranesa is the Vampires to the South? I wish Belegar had Bugman Rangers at least.

@@quickpawmaud Even with regular rangers, once you get the snipe from one of your captains, which should hit lvl 8 by then, it'll help a lot. As for what units you should focus on getting, I usually go with iron drakes. Fire in the side of your enemies does wonders, but they also make sieges easy when you break down one of the gates and the enemy will desperatly try to block the path only to get burned down. And yes, that's vampire coast. Belegar's whole thing until you get to Karak 8 Peaks is that you play mercenary for your friendly starting factions. Make sure to get a defensive alliance with Border Princes as they be desperate enough and they'll act as your buffer state.

@@jshadowhunter I am playing with 2 mods. 1 of them called Capped Dwarf Grudges which just caps the confederation cost at 15k Settled Grudges and removes the penalty for confederation. Also playing with a climate mod which makes Temperate and Frozen suitable to Belegar. So should be a little bit easier for me. I assume I should get Iron Beard on one of the Thanes and Wanderer on the other one?

@@quickpawmaud Naturally. Sniping rangers will help alot in taking out Aranesa's artilery and other ranged units, you just need to park them in the back, and you're not using Hammerers anyway since that's more of a Thorgrim's thing. In unmodded game, selling off bad climate areas pays off alot, and Princes will give you a big influx of cash each turn. And on top of that you can use them for diplomatic persuasion, so once you've wiped out the beastmen you should try to colonize atleast one ruin to sell to Fey Enchantress so you can get a preemptive alliance before the wood elves do, in case you're trying to go after that grudge. I would only suggest not to sell Aranesa's main base because of the unique buildings. After you've crushed both initial armies of Skrag and Wurzag (with the destruction they've been causing will net you a lot of grudges within those first 15 turns), use your main army to crush him, while your 2nd army takes down ogres, the latter giving you even more money when you restore them to Princes. By the time you kill Warzag's faction your economy should be stable enough, as wasteland is a good climate for you, and by then 8 Peaks is already in your reach. You should only worry about Skarbrand south of you after that, as weakened Wurzag will likely trigger him, but if you have even one grudgebearer gyrocopter you should be able to take him down before he gets to your army.

No. It is legendary, if you don't believe me look at Legend's stream for Thorgrim, he has the same thing. He can recruit a lot sure, but key is to defeat 1 army a time.

@@Costin_Gaming I don't know what I'm doing wrong then. I'm only doing Very Hard campaign, hard battles. I'll have Thorgrim march on The High Place on turn 4 or 5, I'll take it easily, and then after I end turn, Skarsnik marches on it with like a 4k stack. Auto-resolve is decisive defeat, and trying to play out the battle is hopeless. I've watched guides, I'm doing the strategies- but he just kills me quicker than I can kill him. The giant spider tears up any hope of a defensive line and they just flood through the hole the spider opens to stop my quarrelers. The Gyrocopter can do some damage, but not enough to turn the tide it seems. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
