The character interaction on the ships is unmatched. On my first disney cruise I was just sitting around the atrium and Belle (in her village outfit I believe too) just showed up and sat next to me and we had a lovely conversation before she had to go perform a story time. I still think about it all the time, it was so wholesome. That would NEVER happen in the parks.

I’ve just booked an Australian Disney cruise! When I heard they were coming, I could’ve cried. I’ve never made it to a Disney park and the fact that I will meet characters, buy Mickey ears and hear the Disney wonders horn will actually be a dream.

On one hand, the characters being omnipresent and having some "continuity" to them as they walk around is neat in like a guest experience sort of way. But oh my GOD those poor cast members.

I can't wait for The Golden Mickeys video on this channel. I used to watch this at Hong Kong Disneyland and it was fantastic. I just never knew that the Disney Cruise Lines are stilling doing that.

Really gotta so a Disney Cruise some day. Really been getting more into the theme park creativity side thanks to Dan and Kevin (Defunctland), and for me it feels like the cruise lines are where some of the more hidden creative elements come into play and application.

We just got back yesterday from a cruise on the Disney Dream and apparently they just changed the rules, because we were able to hug and get close to the characters, and the handlers very happily took pictures with guests' phones. 😃 Something to look forward to on your next cruise, Dan! The Disney Dream was my first Disney cruise too!! I wanna go on another Disney cruise so badly. I went February 2014 and I was 14 at the time and spent most of my time in the teens-only area because it was such an amazing experience. The teens-only area even had our own private pool which I definitely spent some time in. At one point when I was by myself in the pool a bunch of the other teens and cast members came out with plastic cups and started having a water fight. I even got a hold of a cup and would throw the water at anyone who passed by me (one of them even jokingly said it wasn't fair cuz they couldn't get me back since I was already in the pool and completely wet XD) first night we got told a scary story that got me scared to look in the mirror in the stateroom which was a struggle since my bed was right next to the mirror. We even made a "Zombie movie" (I messed up on my lines but I had so much fun making it with everyone. I uploaded it onto my youtube channel, even. We screened it in the movie theatre on the ship) On the final night before they closed The Vibe we all had a sit around and talked about our lives and experiences and such and the fun we had on the ship and even though it's been years, I miss those guys and the connections I made. And that's just a slice of the great time I had on that cruise

This was a fun video, we took our first DCL trip this past February, also on the Dream for Marvel Day at Sea. Also like Dan, we were so hooked that we have another one booked, Halloween on the Fantasy this October. He is so right on about the vibe and theming.

I have never been on a cruise, and the last time I was at any Disney theme park was 1987, but I would love to take my family on a Disney Cruise. I think saving up for a Great Wolf Lodge vacation is more our price point, though.

When I went on my first Disney cruise when we went to the island when I was walking off the ship I Saul Donald Duck right behind me this was before Covid happened he gave me a big hug I was in tears and then I saw my buddy Captain Hook

I want to go on a Disney cruise SO BAD! I've only been a ship for my high school prom and boy was that amazing, but we didn't sleep on it! My tips though, eat the food! Make sure to get your moneys worth of everything the ship has to offer! Do the pictures for all days of your trip, see the shows, and meet characters!

I am DEFINITELY going on a Disney Cruise sometime in the near future. I can get my costume character fix without having to deal with all additional costs of going to the parks. But not until we're allowed to hug the characters again.

My family loves cruising! My parents have been on nearly 20 cruises including a Panama canal crossing, and the inagrural sailings of the Dream, Fantasy and Wish. I've been 15, and my husband on 4. We really love getting to know crew members over time, there's several officers that know my parents because of how often they've been on board. As for tips, you've already don't the biggest one. Book your next cruise on board. Even if you don't know when you'll be sailing again, put the deposit down then move it if you need to.

I went to my first disney cruise (marvel day at sea) just before covid lockdown and I've been missing it ever since. I really enjoyed the extra activities like the alcohol tastings, fish extenders, decorating our cabin door etc. I also appreciated the rooms being always a few minutes walk, I prepared a lot of disneybound outfits and kept changing for every meet and greet!

We did a Disney Cruise UK Staycation last year on the Magic, which was the first cruise I've done. Now got another Disney Cruise booked for next year on the Dream! and already planning another for the year after! Such a great way of having a different type of Disney vacation

My girl scout troop was gonna go on a Disney cruise in middle school but my one troop leader threw a fit and insisted we go on a Carnival cruise instead. By the third day all the kids were so bored that we found the ship's library and spent a couple of hours playing chess, then mixed all the sodas and condiments and dared each other to drink it. My sister eventually did and immediately threw up. I wish it could've been a Disney cruise

I went on the cruise when it reopened after Covid as a test cruise and the cruise was still as great as I remember! I love cruising, but haven't done a Disney cruise 'cause the price comparison to other cruises I've been on just scares my wallet. LOL They're so pricy compared to other cruise lines! I am going on a 5 day NCL cruise just after Thanksgiving, just myself, and it's costing me ~$850.
