►Synopsis ：
In the 9th year of Wude Period of Tang Dynasty, Li Changge, the daughter of the former crown prince, accidentally escaped from the military coup in the palace. During her escape, Changge encountered the secret service agent of a grassland tribe, Ashina Sun, who was under the pseudonym of Qin Zhun. They got to know each other through a fight and their affection grew stronger. Changge smashed a conspiracy in Youzhou. However, at the same time, her identity was revealed, and she went to Shuozhou to escape capture. She hid herself beside Gongsun Heng, the governor of Shuozhou, to help him resist the invasion of the grassland forces, but she did not expect that the enemy general was Qin Zhun. Changge was shocked and distressed to discover Qin’s real identity. However, the situation in Yuzhou is in great danger. In order to gain time for reinforcements, Li Changge negotiated with Sun. For the sake of the overall situation, she was willing to be a prisoner and taken to the grassland. Then she accidentally learned that the Great Khan had an ulterior motive. Changge decided to temporarily put aside her personal vengeance, and risk her life to save the situation. In order to save Changge, Sun disobeyed the order of the Great Khan, but they were far apart from each other after that. After going through the arduous exile, Changge gradually understood the principle of the invincibility of the benevolent, and finally put aside her personal grievances. After discovering that the former forces of Sui Dynasty were the manipulators behind the scenes, Changge and Sun teamed up to protect the peace of Tang Dynasty and the grassland. They finally came to realize their deep affections towards each other and went to confront the crisis ahead.

I don't watch Chinese shows much, I just can't relate to their way of acting/plot lines. But this. The Long Ballad. What a masterpiece. This is by far the best thing I've seen from China. Edit: I wrote this after watching the whole show. So don't assume I'm saying this from episode 1.

Been watching this drama for hundred times, almost re watch everyday since a month ago, Still can’t get over it. First time I got hooked so much in drama series, also not a fan of historical drama, but this is exceptional. ReAlly well executed. The main lead character has great chemistry, even though the love scene isn’t showy, but it’s understandable because the drama is more focus on strategic war, politics, winning, revenge, healing, loving selflessly, helping people and building the nation. This drama is not the typical drama that is common these days, that’s why I loved it.

Long Ballad truly is a master piece..fantastic cast amazing story line. great acting from all cast..the entire cast, the writers ,PD,directors,entire crew made this drama so wonderful... This drama is truly amazing... spectacular drama..its full of suspense its thrilling its has lots of emotions.this drama has all the feeling .. amazing drama just amazing....the cast brought the characters to life..the actors and actresses protray their characters very well..i was so immersed in the drama.. never got tired from rewatching this drama....

Ashile Sun has the feel of an iconic character, the way he was designed and then played to perfection by Wu Lei. That image of him dressed up in white with silver armor and a falcon sitting on his arm is unforgettable. His look and the way he carries himself, he's such a mature and talented actor beyond his age. And he has _so_ much screen presence! Really love him. Also really enjoyed Changge's journey to character growth. For those who thought the age gap between Dilraba and Wu Lei would be too obvious, they look _really_ good together. Would love to see another drama with them.

@@ZaraKhan-hl3re...Sun and Changge are def the best onscreen couple I've seen in a long time. Their relationship is a very wholesome, healthy, and mature one filled with mutual understanding, respect, support, and admiration. When Sun said he couldn't betray Ashile tribe or the Great Khan, Changge immediately understood. She wasn't angry that he didn't "choose" her. Likewise, Sun wasn't angry with Changge's actions and decisions along the way because he also understood her love for her people and the fact that she couldn't betray them. Even though they were supposed to be enemies, I appreciate that their relationship wasn't filled with misunderstandings, toxicity, grudges, one blaming the other for every little mistake and error. Even in the major event with the death of Alir, Sun was initially angry with Changge because of his high emotions but immediately regretted his words and went searching for her. On Changge's part, she was remorseful and acknowledged that what she did led to events that ended up hurting Sun, and it helped her change herself for the better. They were able to hold deep/meaningful conversations and they really took each other's words to heart. Even when they didn't agree, they still listened to what the other had to say. They really cared deeply about one another. It's so sweet how they were willing to follow each other anywhere as long as they were together.

Funny enough, she's 15 years, and just after her world crashed and burnt; him about 21 (I think) with the capacity to spin the world on his palm if he wishes. Such contrast and such similarity ( to another cute but not so lucky couple I saw)!!!

Right??? Wu Lei played his role to perfection. I don't know of anyone who could have pulled off a stronger grassland warrior vibe. Sun is such a damn strong, mature character...and what's really impressive is that Wu Lei was only 20 when they filmed this series. He's so talented and versatile for someone so young 😊

Impossible irl unless they have a special rule of no physical contact, the opposite team here is just running all over the place instead of defending like in a real game. E.g. a good defender would man mark the players and just barge them out of the way. Plus the skill level required for multiple people to give pin point accurate passes in air, whilst already running is rare even in professional football so would be a challenge in it's self just to find the players. It does look cool tho

Changa gave Sun a compliment about saving the ball from not hitting that kid. He could have just let the ball fly because it was out of bounds but he didn’t. Showing in a subtle way Sun’s good character. Changa notice it.

I agree. I watched LLTG first and, for a drama so heavily focused on relationships, found the miserable, one-sided relationship between the two leading characters to be difficult and extremely frustrating to endure. It was not an enjoyable or very positive drama. Those two characters should have never gotten together 😑 TLB felt more balanced with its focus on plot too, and it actually had a very beautiful and positive vibe due to many great character growths and the healthy relationship between its two leading characters.

Watched it twice, long ballad is more famous internationally, south asia, Latin America, central asia etc. This show set an example due to Leo Wu and Dilraba acting and chemistry! Producers should cast Leo and Dilraba again in modern sophisticated drama with intense theme, like godfather, love-hate, slap-kiss, these two actors will rock globally and set new standards for c drama!!

I agree with you. Dear how can anyone don't love it and will rewatch it?, It's one of my favorite wuxia romance drama I have watched too. And i really love all the casts and the leads has superb chemistry. Hoping to see them again in a drama. I love the main lead. Leo wu is so handsome and Dilraba is super pretty and hee acting skills are superb too.

i have neven been a big fan of historic political drama but after watching the long ballad i am speechless with the plot ,the romance and fallen in love with everything of this drama. Even after watching 4th tym i can't get over with it. diliraba and leo wu couple is the masterpiece i want to see them again with another masterpiece drama 😍😍😍😍😍

I just completed the series and had to come back to say how Amazing it was. The entire cast was Amazing. They played their roles Magnificently. Diraba, I ❤❤You. Thank you to the Writers, Directors, Producers and the entire Team that made this possible. Thank you for the excellent subs. It was worth the watch. Every episode was filled with intrigue and excitement. Thank you. On to the next Drama.

Wu Lei and Dilraba were fantastic in their roles. Li Changge and Ashile Sun have a special place in my heart. I love their respectful, mature relationship. They are such a powerhouse duo who are as amazing individually as they are a couple. Both are leaders and problem-solvers...so in sync, and a perfect match!

Oh my goodness! What a superb drama! What brilliant acting skills are displayed by all the actors, actresses and stunt doubles! I jump out of bed in the morning, eager to get back to binge-watching this drama - only to remember this morning that I finished watching all 49 episodes yesterday. I am now suffering serious withdrawal symptoms! I can’t leave the world of The Long Ballad! I am still climbing palace steps with Li Changge, as she thinks on her feet, strategizes and zips from one location to another, trying her best to work with others to save this community or that community, this person or that person; plotting revenge and then the regret of misunderstanding; the male warriors making life difficult for everyone with their egos, ambitions and desires; the sorrow of the deluded and the cowardly; the cause for hope as others grow and mature; the spirituality and pertinent words of wisdom; the excellent fight scenes, and the beautiful costumes and settings. I laughed, I cried, and oh, I want to go to China and walk along some of those paths, roads and fields myself! In the end, when it comes to human affairs it is amazing how everything stems from love - love of money, love of status, love of power, love of self, love of another, love of family, love of community, love of homeland, and the desire for freedom, security and a good life for all our beloved ones . . .

such a well written professional drama.Everything is perfect from script to cast,Leo wu and dilraba what a match.some scenes were not necessary but it was not a disappointment the main villain who is the uncle was overall not bad in fact he cared.Totally recommended.❤❤

Channge's Mom/Lady Jin: It's so refreshing to see Xu Rong Zhen in this kind of role! I normally see her playing a wicked-consort/concubine with gawdy accessories, outfits and makeup. Not that that was terrible looking, don't get me wrong! Plus she's absolutely amazing at that kind of role. It's just so different to see her so natural and soft. Overall, already loving the cast and recognizing so many faces. I can tell this is gonna be a good one!

As a viewer of international drama from chinese Korean Japanese Turkish indian etc, its my suggestion to consider dilraba and leo for more intense modern romance with backdrop of underworld or corporate world. Unlike cheesy boss employee drama, this should be trend changer. suggest something like 'kiralik ask' or hercai. These two dramas need tremendous acting abilities and arry of emotions with phenomenal chemistry between leads, which leo wu and dilraba can pull off.
