Cote d'Azur cols | What's all the fuss about?

I headed out to Nice and Monaco, home of numerous professional cyclists to find out what's so great about this stretch of the Cote d'Azur. Squeezing in a shoot with Wattbike, I ride famous climbs such as Col de la Madone, Col d'Eze and Brau then ride from France to Italy for a Cappuccino and some focaccia.

Just spent 3 months living in La Turbie and cheffing in the Restaurant Le V at Hotel Hermitage at the top of Col D'Éze. Absolutely beautiful part of the world for a cycle. Did the La Turbie - Cap D'ail - Beaulieu Sur Mer - Villefranche Sur Mer - Nice Col D'Eze loop several times. If you're down that way again head up to Tete de Chien above La Turbie for absolutely jaw dropping views of Monaco and Cap D'ail.

I've been on some amazing rides before where I was so focused on keeping going that I didn't spend enough time just appreciating where I was - it was over in a blur. So it's definitely good to slow down sometime

Nice!! Anywhere along there is beautiful apart from Marseille which is not really a bicycle friendly city. Weather could be worse it snows at times contrary to popular belief. I'd like to take a touring motorbike on those mountains and my pedal horse.

I used to train in the hills behind St Tropez and Port Grimaud on the Cote. Great cycling back in the 80’s.

Great video! I did this route yesterday (Nice-Menton), but rode upto the Moyenne Corniche road, which is a few meters above the coastal route. So beautiful! You make it look so flipping easy! I'm new to cycling and terrible at climbing. Any advice on how to improve CV endurance? Im very much enjoying your videos, very inspirational. Thanks, Sarah.

Lovely place for a ride. This morning here in NE Ohio we had a small amount of snow on the ground again. BLECH!!! So yet again looks like no riding this week.

Rampas Inhumanas it was pretty damn windy. My Spin On These wheels are deep but designed not to catch the wind

It's so lovely there, glad you enjoyed seeing it. I'm in love with the wheels, the main reason being that due to the profile the wind never catches them. And it was seriously windy!

Bill Evans I raced nearby in Oakhampton yesterday and it was warm and fairly sunny! Fingers crossed you won’t have rubbish weather. What a nice place to base yourself!

Thanks Juliet. Had a great time. Just got back today. Weather was mostly kind to us. Lots of mist. So pleased that I managed a number of good climbs including Haytor. Covered 240 miles in the 5 days.
