This made my morning! I love the way your animals love you and it's clear you take very good care of them. Thank you for taking the time to share your farm with us and educating us along the way!!!

Highlands are very cute, there are a couple farms around where I live in Wisconsin, United States that have them.

The Highland is my favorite cow after the Texas longhorn, which had to be first or my ancestors will haunt me! Contrary to old Westerns movies, longhorns are calm and easily become good buddies when raised from a calf. Whether we would have had one would have depended on how much land we could have afforded. Before I became disabled we had intended to have a small farm, in Delaware, USA, where we know live. Next life maybe. I am from Texas and hubby from Delaware. We would have had a few cows, a few sheep, heirloom chickens and pigs, hubby his beloved horse and a couple of ponies for the grandchildren and other kids. I had planned a large garden of both heirloom food and flowers (something I already did). And we had hoped to open it up to inner city kids in the Summer. When I lived in inner city Wilmington, many kids I met had while gardening no idea where food came from and several thought Buffalo wings, which are spicy chicken wings, came from buffalos. It was fun to show them pictures, talk about my own encounters with buffalos in Texas and how huge they are, and and explain “buffalos wing” was just a name and came from chickens , No flying buffalos, though the thought of tiny winged buffalos flattering through to sky seemed quite magical. I wanted it to be a teaching farm and a place were they learned ecology. I also hoped to help them with any learning disabilities and the correct any educational deficiencies they experienced with access to a proper curriculum and well, educated tutors who saw them as human beings. I had taught such students and knew the consequences of subpar resources, over crowding, staff who expected them to fail, and other forms of hostility based on class and/or skin color. These children live under enormous stress at home and in school. I dreamt of doing my small part in giving as a many students as a I could the skills required to do live a decent life.

You paint such an idyllic selfless picture, Sharon. What a wander this place sounds. Who knows what the future holds for you all. And we entirely agree, little flying buffalos are an adorable image. 🙏

Its so lovely to see this channel. When I was a young girl we had an old English sheep dog from Prospect Blue kennels in Wales. Her kennel name was Melanie Gwen Prospect Blue. We called her Winnie. Prospect Blue had a beautifully tempered dog in the day. They are no longer in business but the dogs were lovely tempered creatures.
