I picked plums from the yard of one of my relatives that lives in the village. I left the plums ferment till spring. They are used for making a traditional plum brandy that people here enjoy drinking, but you can also use it to create your own plant tinctures and natural remedies at home.
I prepared a salad that we call A La Rousse Salad, and that we eat here very often. It is made with boiled veggies, pickled cucumbers and peppers (although I used raw peppers in my salad) mixed with mayonnaise and then beautifully adorned. People often eat it with meat (boiled chicken meat for example added to the veggie mixture).
Choosing a rural life in a small village involves lots of work, but it has many advantages: a simpler and peaceful life, feeling closer to nature and working outdoors, creating many beautiful things with your own hands - this gives you a wonderful sense of joy and satisfaction.
