I like the "Cotton Pickin' Kin" idea. It won't confuse your existing audience because it's so similar but it eliminates your problem.

I read below someone came up with ~ "COTTON PICKIN KIN" and thought that would be a great name! Family name is good but very common. KIN is very similar to your current name but opens up your group for older and younger kids, Dad, cousins, or players of a KIN~dred style, etc. Very good name: "COTTON PICKIN KIN" Yes, I like it!

I echo what several others have said in that I love the name Cotton Pickin' Kids. Getting older doesn't mean you outgrow a name, and you wouldn't be the first band to have a juvenile name that carried forward indefinitely. I'm not a big fan of using your family surname or a derivative thereof as your band name. Yes, it's unique, but that doesn't mean it's easy to remember or spell. It's not "catchy." The best suggestion I've seen so far is "Cotton Pickin' Kin." Not only does it require the simplest, most minor change possible, it also opens up the possibility of extended family members joining your band who might not have the same last name.

Maybe you could just keep the CPK acronym and if anyone asks what it stands for you could say: Cotton Pickin Kin, but when we were younger it was Cotton Pickin Kids for a long time.

Everyone knows and would like you to keep "Cotton Picking" as part of your new name. Hearing your ideas of sticking to your name some how. Very interesting as you kids mature into adulthood. My suggestion is " Cipollari Blue Grass Band". Some say you name is catchy, but I like it & it brings you back to your roots, where this all started. I think that shows self respect in family matters & pushes forward the respect you have for your elders.

As far as Patreon goes how bout people pay you kids to do reaction vids. Where we send you songs and you all sit and watch then react/comment on what you all thought of the song. There are lots of reaction channels on youtube that make a boatload of money. You would have to be open to reacting to various kinds of music. For example maybe one day is a Metallica song the next day is a Huey Lewis and the News song and so on.

How about? "The Cipollaris' Bluegrass Orchestra" - cause, ultimately, you collectively are an orchestra!

Cipollari, or The Cipollari's, would work. There is another famous KZfaq family of performers (pop music though) with a similar Itallian last name Cimorelli. Incidently they are also a large Roman Catholic family of 11 siblings. Must be in the water.

I think keep the Cotton Pickin "family name"

1) First, it was Jefferson Airplane, then Jefferson Starship and then just Starship. And then the original band members reformed and performed under the original name while the other musicians carried on as Starship. 2) I was in a RUSH tribute band in college. We never had an official name, sometimes being Thrush, but mostly "Pope's group." Since we would sell out minutes after it was announced where we would perform, the clubs we performed in would put on the marquee "Private Party Tonight. Sold Out."

Well let me start by saying "I love the Cotton Pickin Kids". But that means you guys individually and together! You have established yourselves with a genre and a following that will continue to listen regardless of a name change. This change could possibly be the largest and most important decision the group ever has to make. Rebranding could launch you to the next level or leave you by the wayside. I understand CPK feeling a need for this change and now is probably the best time if it is to happen. Just don't rush it! You guys already have the "sound" and artistic abilities. With just one song you could easily find yourselves waking up in a new galaxy as the next big hit. You guys are becoming well known in a big market. There are also possibilities of some of you being recruited by some other top bands needing a new member for a tour or to replace one of theirs. A couple of you are already good enough for that to happen. As you make the transition to the next level please continue to remain true to yourselves and don't change who you are. Don't change who we have all come to love. The simplicity and individual personalities are what we are in love with. What ever "YOU" choose as a new band name will be ok for those of us who are already CPK followers. Pray about it. God bless you guys on this as it will be a tough decision. Keep it simple. Hey, you've worked hard to build your brand. Stay with it. Kids See Ghosts. Kids of Survival. Kids in Glass Houses. Kid Rock. Kid Ink. Kid Cudi. Kid Creole & the Coconuts. Cool Kids. The Kids Are Alright. Yes, it is a name your dad put on you. But now it has a life (and albums and merchandise and a KZfaq channel) of its own. "Kids" doesn't have to refer to age. "Kids" is also an attitude.

Yall are awesome and yes I agree if yall are going to change ypur name , now is a great time to do that. I've actually been thinking about changing our name too amd for the same reason , lol. And we'll only have like 9 orb19 gospel songs that we do as well amd yes we are needing to learn more too so when we play at churches we can give them a good amount of songs.
