From my understanding and from the footages I saw, Victor Moore the same man on here, claims he blocked all 4 of Bruce Lee's punches. Turns out it was totally the opposite. Victor Moore never blocked any of Bruce lee's punches at all. And as far as Chuck Norris goes. He was Bruce Lee's student for 2 years after sparring against each other. Hence! They were not kicking bags for all day long everyday of the week for 2 years, without sparring against each other. Lastly! It's in Bruce Lee's book, that Chuck Norris became his student for 2 years

Remember that Bruce Lee system was a self defense/street fighting system NOT a tournament fighting system and remember B.Lee weighted about 132lbs and was about 5'3" (something like that) its not exactly what I would call a fair comparison, plus if Chuck Norris, Joe Lewis and Mike Stone all took private lessons from him he must have been doing something right.

Bruce Lee was a skilled martial artist and actor as well as teacher. However, you can't change the laws of physics or fast/slow twitch muscle fibers unless he was an alien and from a different species. I understand people want to praise Bruce Lee. However, it's highly unlikely Lee would last one round with Mike Tyson in Mike's prime. In Chuck Norris statement: , I'm a professional fighter, says it all.

Obviously he had loads of respect for Bruce and not just that they were true friends who shared a love of martial arts that bordered on obsession that gave them a solid base for their friendship to grow in ways most can't even understand. Chuck would never disrespect his friend in life or after his death by destroying his friend's mystique. That said Chuck had 30-40 pounds on Bruce and sparred constantly. Anyone who fights will tell you that if you want to apply your art in a real fight you must spar that art. If Bruce did free spar I can find no evidence of it. Therefore in all likelihood Chuck would mutilate Bruce.

I don't know. Bruce had a revolutionary skill and style that was never seen before at that time He is considered by many to be the father of what we now call MMA. Bruce saw that each style had unnecessary things that were just tradition, so he took what was most useful from each and made his style from that. He was the first we know of to do so.

More complete bullshido on this thread. Lee was over 3000 years too late for that. The Ancient Greeks did that with Pankration. More recently there were many hybrid systems prior to Lee. Kajukenbo arrived from Hawaii into the Bay Area years before Lee got there. Al Novak, a business partner of Lee’s who helped him open his school in the Bay Area was a Kajukenbo master and later one of the only four tenth degree black belts in that system’s history. Lee was an avid cross trainer and had the largest public platform for promoting it, but even Norris had a wider base and went far deeper into the systems that he cross trained in than Lee ever did and had done far more of it than Lee, even before they met.

@DavidHughesKJN
@DavidHughesKJN 3 ай бұрын
@@SOG-xb4qh Fact. Bruce completed roughly half of the Wing Chun curriculum and mostly dabbled in with little to no live training in other systems or did an academic study of others. Norris legitimately earned multiple dan rankings in several systems before he ever met Lee and currently holds a 10th dan in his own system, a 9th dan in Tang Soo Do, 8th dans in both Taekwondo and Kyokushin, 5th dan in Shito Ryu Karate, 3rd dan in BJJ and first dan in Judo. You might want to actually do the real research rather than swallowing the bullshido and fan fiction of the Bruceploitation con artists. As far as mental and physical prowess, that’s highly debatable. Lee’s habits with cocaine, acid, hash and pot aren’t the best testament to his superiority in those areas over Norris. Lee was gifted with more natural athleticism than Norris, which I doubt that anyone, including Norris would dispute, but the rest is your bias. Lee kept immaculate records of his strength training and those records were sold at auction in his own handwriting. Lee regularly did squats with only 95 lbs for 10 reps for years as a regular part of his workout. I would venture to guess that Norris was well above that. He might be above that today in his eighties.

I knew Mr. Norris back in the eighties and nineties and from our conversations, he was a nice person and I respect his accomplishments and contributions. As far as being a fan of his, let alone the graphic trash you said, be real. I am testing for 10th dan myself in June and have won an international championship in full contact and a world title in Jiu-Jitsu during my own competitive career. Why would I have hero worship for a no contact, stop/go “Karaté tag” champion? He even told the world about being completely dominated by the Gracies before anyone had ever heard of them and without his admission of that, the world would never have known about it.

@@judosailor610 Yes I did. I wanted to emphasize...point karate. As someone pointed out in these replies, Chuck was slow compared to Bruce. Don't get me wrong, Chuck has massive power. But you have to be able to hit the guy for power to matter. Speaking of power.....you've probably seen the clip from the Hong Kong TV show? He performs the one-inch punch, but directly afterward, the sidekick - go to my channel if you like, I made a short video from that clip where I took out the sound effects, showed the one-inch punch & the kick, & then repeated the kick in slow motion. What is super remarkable about it is that the man was holding the board from the top, dangling. He did not hold both sides and reinforce it. Especially in the slow-motion version, you can see clearly that the board shatters into at least 3 pieces. The speed, velocity, accuracy, power & timing that it takes to do that is mind boggling! I am certain that if most elite martial artists kicked the board unsupported & dangling like that, the board would simply go flying & certainly not shatter like that. Look at the look on his face when he completes the kick! Almost possessed. I would not want to be the recipient of that kick!!😱 How about you? I think only the "best of the elite" could do that - a great description of Bruce!

@@FretsOnFire So first of all, I appreciate that you actually referenced some real footage that I could easily go look at. While I have seen it before, I can’t tell you how rare it is in these conversations about Lee for someone to actually post evidence of what they are talking about! Haha. So kudos! That said… and look, I’m not trying to be rude… but there is nothing in that video that can’t be done by your average TKD black belt. The one inch punch is basically a parlor trick. And breaking a board that is only loosely held at the top is par for the course for anyone who trains in an art that does breaking. I’ve done it before and I wasn’t even that good! The fact is we know so much more about fighting, and about what works and what doesn’t, nowadays that those old “demonstrations” just aren’t worth much anymore. We’ve seen too many of those types step into real fights and it turned out they couldn’t fight at all. Mind you, I’m not saying Lee couldn’t fight at all! He obviously was skilled. But he was also relatively untested in real fights (unless you believe every apocryphal story about him KOing some unnamed black belt in seconds…. WHICH I DONT). I think he COULD have been a good fighter had he actually trained for it. But for all that people talk about him being innovative, he still trained like a pretty traditional martial artist. And we now know that’s not the most effective way to train for real fighting.

The unedited video shows Moore blocking the majority of Lee’s strikes, but the edited version showing the unblocked one still at quite a distance from ever hitting him out on a recurring loop is the one most people have seen and reference. Prince over at Golden Bell Training is far more honest than most of the Lee fan sites, but he is still very biased in favor of Lee. He doesn’t go to the extremes of completely fabricating fake material like Beerdy’s or Real Bruce Lee Fight Channel and he often even calls those con artists out on their bullshido, but he is far from an objective source.

Don’t worry about me and my time, I’ve accomplished a lot more in my life than you ever will. Btw, I originally commented on this thread to correct some of the things that Moore said that were historically incorrect. I thought that it would be hypocritical for me to correct what he said that I knew to be falsehoods and then not defend what he said that I knew was true. Of course, that created a firestorm among you and your fellow cult members. The personal attacks from the cowardly trolls hiding from the safety of their keyboards is amusing. David, the only thing I'd say is that a real fighter has to see whether they can take a hit. Some people are great amateur boxers, but their genetics just makes them such that they can't handle hits. That's one major gateway when it comes to pro fights, MMA or anything. Some people just get dazed or hurt too quick. Bloody noses at a mere tap, etc. Lots of people go into boxing and find out they can't take the punishment. Personally, I think Bruce Lee could have been a contender. He had too much drive and ambition. People like him make it happen either way.

I take one really big issue with something you said. A real "amateur" fighter can take hits, that is why the best current fighters are Eastern Europeans, Bivol, Beterbiev, Loma, Usyk, the Klitchkos who spent over a a decade+ in the amateur/nationals system. I have fought on every level from PAL to Bronze/Silver/Golden gloves to regionals and nationals. Now i coach as well. I believe what you were referring to is "bag hitters" which is 90% of fighters. Guys who go to the gym and maybe even coaching but have no interest in getting hit. Which is fine. We get hit... HARD. There are advantages to not turning pro because you lose your amateur status and 99% of the time end up fighting "pro" for $500 in a VFW hall in front of 50 people.. Amateur you belong to a system and group. Some form of healthcare depending on caliber. Plus 100% of amateurs fight in "smokers" and actually get paid really well from the betting action

Though several of the parasites that ride Lee’s coattails who were never there have made debunked claims. Norris, Lewis and Stone have all maintained the same thing consistently and Dan Inosanto has confirmed that. I don’t know who would win between the two and frankly don’t care. He was never a fighter. As far as the outcome of the match is concerned, in an interview in the book BRUCE LEE:THE UNTOLD STORY, Dan Inosanto said that “It would be charitable to call that fight a draw.” And that Bruce had told him “I was so tired that I couldn’t even hit him, Danny.” Nor did the fight have anything to do with Lee teaching other races Chinese Martial Arts. @@bobbycoltrane7552 Of course a professional fighter is virtually always a FAR better fighter than a “street fighter”. Street fights might be dangerous situations, but they aren’t real fights because they almost never have real fighters engaged in them. And on the rare occasions that they do, it’s a real fighter destroying dummies that can’t fight. There are a lot of unpredictable dangers, such as environmental hazards, multiple or armed opponents or ambush or surprise attacks, but the quality of opposition is so relatively low, that they never impress anyone who knows anything about the topic. I have been a licensed tactical trainer for two decades and prior to that, I worked as a bouncer and later a bodyguard for years during my twenties. I had a LOT of experience with dealing with dummies that couldn’t fight. I had knives and guns pulled on me and had been outnumbered many times. Those were dangerous situations in an uncontrolled environment, but none of those have any place on my professional fight record. When I fought on an international level as a professional kickboxer/full contact fighter or world class level as a submission grappler, the conditions might have been more controlled, but the level of my opponents was infinitely higher. I have cross trained in and taught the Filipino Martial Arts myself for over four decades and have taught knife fighting for federal agencies. Those and some of the African tribal arts are good supplemental training for armed opponents, but neither is very high level for single, unarmed combat.

The reason why Chuck Norris was picked by Bruce Lee to make a movie was because Steve Mc Queen refuse to make a movie with him because he was Hollywood top actor and Bruce Lee was only " Kato and the green hornet " starr,, a TV show and he said him( Steve Mc Queen) was not in the of giving fame to others to start a career in Hollywood. Steve McQueen was one of his students and someone Bruce Lee considered his friend (buddy) but when he heard that from Steve he didn't like it and went and look for another candidate. Chuck was the perfect candidate for his 6 times world champion status. Of course they had to respect themselves because they were in for the money and fame. Chuck should be more honest and say " am here because Bruce Lee made me who I am and if it hasn't been like that I wouldn't even be here talking to you ".

More garbled bullshido. If you’re going to lie, at least try to get the underlying story straight. Steve McQueen was never related to that film. It was Joe Lewis that Lee offered the part to first and who turned down Lee. Norris being a six time world champion is a popular lie, but untrue. He was legitimately the top no contact, stop/go point sparring competitor on the American tournament circuit in the middleweight division from the mid to late sixties. He did win a tournament that called itself the “Professional World Karate Championships” in 1968, but it was never sanctioned as a legitimate world championship by any governing body. Also Norris retired from individual competition the next year. Though he did do one team match in January of 1970. There wasn’t another “World Professional Karaté Championship” held until 1974. Though that was held by another organization in another sport entirely. It was a full contact or American Kickboxing event held by the PKA. You don’t win a single championship tournament and be considered a 6x world champion. Especially for years after you retired from competition.

In a conversation my dad had with Jim Kelly (those who don't know, Jim was the black man in Enter of the Dragon staring Bruce Lee) My dad asked who was better Bruce or Ed Parker (founder of Ken Po) Jim said " in the ring my money is on Bruce but in the streets I put my money on Parker" Ed grew up street fighting almost everyday. He was a white kid in Hawaii and the locals would fight him all the time. I was told he was the first non Asian to be taught martial arts. His dad was a church leader and asked a member of his church to please teach his son, cause he was getting beaten up constantly. So out of respect for his church leader the older Asian man broke tradition and taught someone outside their race. Ed soon stopped losing fights and is now in the martial arts be Hall of Fame.

What makes someone a professional fighter? Those who are saying Bruce was not a fighter are wrong. He often got into fights growing up in Hong Kong. Sometimes he was often ganged up on by 10 guys at once. A friend of mine has read Bruce Lee's daily workout routine online. It was written in Chinese Mandarin, and my friend translated it. He said everyday Bruce would wake up and drink a protein shake that consisted of blended up raw U.S.D.A. Choice beef, raw eggs, and milk. Then he would run for 15 miles. EVERYDAY. After that he would do 2 hours on a stationary bike. Then he would often do isometric exercises like standing on a pole for 5 hours. It would've been a quick fight. Bruce would've won more often than not, simply because of his variety of styles, unpredictability, speed, and, last but not least, his often overlooked power.
