If warner brothers gets control of paramount, doesn't that mean that WB owns DC and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Batman and the turtles have crossed over in the past. I wouldn't mind seeing them share a universe.

I definitely think that there will be another arrowverse type show again but maybe it has something to do with the new streaming service that might be happening soon. Basically what I’m saying is that the CW is ending the arrowverse as whole but it’s creating a new space for more shows to come on streaming services!!! And leaving the reality shows and sports to the CW!!! It looks like that James Gunn agrees!!!

I feel kinda like an old man but honestly I miss cable tv, it was nice having everything in one place with new shows and episodes to look forward to every week. I do appreciate how easy it is to watch old stuff now but I don’t know I feel like something has to change.

Antenna based TV has so many free channels in big cities that cable is a waste of money.

I think the world of TV was at its best when you had your Sky/Virgin/Cable/Freeview whatever and could record shows to watch later, and with the option of using a channel’s own playback/catch-up site. But you also had Netflix for all those shows that aren’t on TV in your country and all the shows & films that are a bit older and not really on TV anymore etc. And anything else you could just buy DVDs for (I will always value physical media!) That was the best time for TV/film as a viewer, I believe. The streaming market was small and not overly saturated as it is now, and it was just simpler and easier.

I just wish Kevin had an actual movie for live-action. Although it wasn't perfect. CW gave Kevin his 1st & only live action portrayal of Bruce/Batman. But watching that scene its so hard now.

In the next 5-10 years steaming will replace network TV with a model that has commercials again. what they should do is when it is live have commerce like normal and after its run add it to the library like you bought the DVD. Then they can get the 15 a month for subs to watch the library and all the ad revenue from people watching it live and during the session run. everyone wins, movies in theaters are then added to the library after 30 days if they want the first 60 days on Streamighave limited ad then add it to the library, everything in the library is ad-free. This or some variation of this will be the new model so in essence ever streaming platform is a network and library with Sub and ads9 and a library all in one.

I want to hope James Gunn does a good job. DC has so much potential right now with the Hero genre dying down, Marvel hit their height and now it going down hill with majority of films not satisfying audiences and the Avengers being so large. DC has this opportunity to do the Avengers type film building the Justice League up. Only TV Shows id want to see is after justice league grows and it shows each hero growing (batman with the bat family)

Considering the condition of both companies, if the merger of Paramount of WB/ discover, one or both may fail. IP is only good if it is profitable. Companies are not hear for the public good but for money.

I could possibly see WB buying or merging with Paramount. It's simply debt consolidation for WB and Paramount. Under one debt, it is easier for a company to sell assets if they choose to.

I don’t think they should, not like they did. While I did enjoy a vast majority of the Arrowverse, I do agree with the complaints of it. I think they should do a Star Labs show that could be used as a pilot for the heroes they want to introduce (change the hero every season as that would be easier and also clear up the main problem with The Flash)

James Gunn is now first focus on Superman which will be out next summer. Arrowverse needs to be revived and put in the DC elseworlds universe not related to the DCU.

To be fair, the design of Batman & Superman has changed so much that the public domain versions have to be exactly what came out that year. This original design and name, but that's largely it.

they really need to figure that shit out. they were the kings of TV superhero shows, no matter what anyone says. they better have a plan and they better stick to it. closer to canon this time. that shit with felicity was atrocious and killed all my interest for the arrowverse.

For general DCTV, it goes back to Superman The Animated Series in 1996. Year TWO of the network. Batman Beyond and Static Shock help bridge the gap until Smallville, and while Birds of Prey, The Batman and Legion of Superheroes also overlap with it, the only gap that’s left is probably the year and a half (~17 months more precisely) between the Smallville finale and Arrow premiere is the only DC-less stretch the network has ever had in the entire period

I think all these streaming services are hurting the film indistry all around. Why should you pay 15 bucks to a movie theater for 1 ticket to a movie. When a family of 4 cost pay half a yearly plan to the movie service seeing it on their 60" TV with there own pop corn. I think the problem with the movie industery is they have priced out most of their audance when I was in highschool me and a freind would go to a mattina movie once a week off his allowance from his dad for 10 bucks. Yes 30 years ago but it does not change the fact what kid even today gets 30 to 50 needed to do that now. The time from release to digitial is so quick it is some times faster then older movie releases. Jurassic Park was in theaters over a year Auquaman 2 toys are already on clearance at walmart 75% off. If they want to save the movie industery they need to start 5 dollar theaters again for movies past 3 months and have movies shelfed for a year to make the movie experance desirable again. Me and that same freind have seen 3 movies sense covid the last time we did not have time to eat before between the moie tickets and a drink and a snack it was nearly $70

I mean the Marvel shows are going to be good or bad on their own . But the connectivity that they have in between each other is missing. And that's not really going to change in the future.

the deal isn't horrible. they got like a 12% salary increased which was the increase last in like 1978'. lol also it could review & redone in 3 years. They also redid how actors get residual on streaming shows which before was using an outdated tv model. Also they stopped hollywood being over ran by AI. Could the deal be better absolutely, but it definitely wasn't horrible

I hope we get a batman tv series as a prequel to titans before dick Grayson left batman or even have dc titans to do a time jump to do some storyline with dick Grayson either as nightwing or as batman and have tim Drake's storyline as well then again there's a lot you can do with nightwing red hood and robin and more

The way i understand it in ten years anyone can make a story about a guy from space with laser eyes n super strength and a guy in a cape with gadgets fighting crime. but altho the Copyrights to the story's are done the Trademarks will live on forever. So no big S / bat on chest. no on the names as a title Superman / Batman. Trademarks is why DC has the rights to Captain Marvel story's but cant call the comic that as Marvel owns the trademark. So a Superman comic with out the name and with out the S would be just another Homelander or Invincible.

I don't think we will get a new dctv universe because James Gunn wants to create a single dc universe. There is elseworlds sure with joker and the batman but it is left on its own universes. I can see universal buying warner discovery thanks to the fox disney merger. Warner Bros and discovery merger. Amazon and MGM merger. Idk would be interesting but probably won't happen .

Let the Arrowverse go! It was mostly garbage, especially after killing off Oliver. Supergirl was never good. The Flash was hirrible after season 3 or 4. Batwoman was bad from day 1. Superman & Lois...is actually pretty solid but that's it! I don't understand the obsession over these terribly written shows with abysmal CGI and YA novel scripts. Every hero has a genius level and overly capable master of all things science sidekick that is obsessed with 80s pop culture. The same formula iver and over and it's trash.

James Gunn success or failure depends on Superman Legacy! If this movie is not as good as Man of Steel. To me, everything is else irrelevant! James Gunn will have failed, in my opinion. Let's be honest DC can't rely every time on Batman to pick up the pieces when Superman falls flat if that happens. If it does fall flat, there will be Cavil fans telling Gunn we told you so. Honestly, I don't think James Gunn is ready for that type of backlash.
