I went to Barry for the 1st time last week (midweek) and actually really enjoyed our time. Really clean down by the beach, nice beach and good walks. I would recommend… but my nearest beach is Weston super mare so the standards to beat wasn’t ever high 😅 parking was high but I’ve got used to that over the years for long stays.

Hiya I came to Barry last year as my daughter lives in Bridgend. I think Barry is a lovely place, i hope Henry keeps the fair there. What with Coney beach possibly going in a few years you will get more visitors. Great vlog as always.

A prime waterfront site for leisure and the Vale Council just frustrate it. Not good for tourists and not good for residents. It's an eyesore. Well done for highlighting it and keeping us up to date.

I think quite a few years ago now a Warners holiday park was meant to be close to being built on the car park site but the council messed them about so much they pulled out .

Those car parking charges that you pointed out are alot cheaper than what we have to pay up here in Glasgow, our local one is £2.20 for 1hr. 6hr stay is £14 I'd love to live in a place like Barry,

I remember going to the Disco in there, so sad.

I went to Barry island today for a school trip 😊😊😊😊 I loved it the beach is beautiful 🤩

I spent a lot of my childhood in Barry Island on the fair. I moved to England from Wales about 15 years ago - what is hugely apparent now I dont live in Wales is just how much the place is going backwards thanks to the Welsh government of Wales. All that money wasted on 20mph signs rather than spending the millions on things that actually needed it. And lots of historic buildings (such as the one in Penarth by Cardiff Bay) which are just going to rot. I dont think the Welsh government want any tourism, or for people to come to Wales to visit. Very sad indeed.

It’s is 200% Vale of Glamorgan council is troublemaker council next plan is to stop Barry Island Barry Festival of Transport, Heritage buses, Heritage Cars and lot more to stop every year on June. I’m big worried and Concerns on Barry Island Barry Festival of Transport and more in every June into Barry Island car and bus park no use anymore on year of 2025. Where to park the Heritage buses festival in Barry Island car park into next year on June 2025 it’s big Concerns ? Yes m8 they done need somthing for holiday people to stay at Barry but butlins was good m8 and then turned in to majestic holiday park last time I was there it was great fun fair open late nite riding was great that was when I was 14 great days now I'm 53 all the best andy from bham

Well Mr. D, if you think your council suck big time, take a trip to Newport and see wha that council has either done or not done. As for parking in central Newport car parks, it's all money in the pockets isn't it.? Anyway, Barry still looking the bees knees, would look even better if that block was eventually converted, but only God can turn that tide. Keep em coming Mr. D, these are precious moments that will eventually become distant memories for us when when were in our dotage (old age). Hehehe.

Blackpool council charge £6 for up to 3 hour’s parking

spent many hours in that pool as a kid at butlins learned to swim in it too

Hopefully people make sure they vote and change the council, ridiculous that Henry was going to purchase and do the toilets uo and as usual old stuck in the past council sell it to someone else, clearly some back handers for the developers who probably do other work for the council
