I know you're getting sponsored for this video but I wanted to add a thumbs up to the Himiway brand. I ride a Himiway Zebra for an 80km round trip commute and it's been an amazing 1100km so far. I get a ride into work on one charge, so 40km for a 300lb rider. My only beef with the company was the lack of transparency with the delivery of the bike. They were still experiencing zero virus lockdowns and wouldn't admit it. There was a 4 month delay getting mine.

Thanks for the info, especially about the range of the bike.

Pretty nice. Heavy though! I made an e-bike from a kit before I really knew anything about bikes. I got a cheap mountain bike and a front hub kit from amazon. 1500w motor, 52a 14ah battery. I weighed about 65lbs more at the time, so I went with the most powerful kit I could find. It was way more than what I needed.

I got a full suspension KTM Macina Lycan 271 (2017 model) back at the end of 2018 for £2700 (RRP was £4600from Merlin- Bosch CX motor and it's still going strong, only outings on it these days are up onto the Cairngorm plateau behind the house or big mountain days like Torridon... I've looked after it well, rebuilt the Pike/Monarch suspension (fully) myself, and stored the batteries (I have 2x 500Wh) with the utmost care at the correct charge level, they still give the same range as when new. It's had 2 motor rebuilds (pedal strikes and water not good for them) at the Ebike Motor Centre. Couldn't get anything at this spec for that money these days and EMBN interviewed Pete Collard from the motor centre who stated the Gen CX was the best motor ever made mainly because it can be fully rebuilt. Not sure I'd want to part with money for this kind of "step through" though, and one day in the future when I stop road biking I'd probably go E-gravel with a spare pair of road tyred wheels....(Mind you the gravel fad will maybe have passed by then though lol!)

Amazing that you have managed to look after the battery so well for so long.

@@jollygoodvelo Yep- Never run the battery dead, never leave it fully charged, never leave it outdoors anywhere it could freeze or have the sun battering down on it, store it with 40%-60% charge (2-3 bars of 5 lit up up). Only take it to full charge prior to actually going out on it- and when charged allow the battery to cool off 10 mins before use, likewise when back from a ride let the battery have a break and cool off before putting any charge in it(Have to do that to get it from say 1 up to 2 or 3 bars).... it's a bit OTT to most people but it does work for maintaining optimum performance!!

The mudguard at 1:44 looks the same width as the tyre ( I would want it 15mm wider ). It would be better if the rear mudguard at 4:26 extended downwards more towards the bottom bracket. At 7:09 I would think a mid drive motor is better than a hub motor on steep hills. My understanding is that the derailleur gearing allows the motor to run more in its optimum speed band and potentially draw less electrical current . Anything integrated like at 3:45 is a potential supply issue if you damage it in a crash. The battery has decent capacity . I would worry more about replacement parts in the motor assembly ( internal gears ) than about batteries.

Extremely similar to The Ride1UP Limited model, which I've had for a year. Same size tires, I think that's the same power for the battery, same brakes, same number of gears, etc. Off the top of my head this looks like the full female configuration for the frame instead of having a slanting top tube. I wonder if they make a non-step though (male) frame for this. I guess for a chick this makes more sense of course. But the way they have the slant on those top tubes nowadays on the male versions, it's the single worst feature for both lifting it up and for not being able to fit a normally sized water bottle. A regular guy doesn't need a lower tube. He's just going swing it over the seat like always. He certainly doesn't need the woman's version. As it is on mine I have to reach down lower and more awkwardly to pick it up at the balance point. Kind of silly. But other than that, mine is a great bike, no complaints, runs like a top. I'm sure this one is at least as good too. E-bike makers do have a tendency to be too inclusive on the sizes for the frames for fitting giants and near dwarfs! That is a very heavy bike! Mine is 55 pounds to this being 75! I'll add that bikes like this one or mine are designed for more wattage and power, although I knew about the e-bike limitations in England before. Mine for instance is a 750 Watt. I'd surmise that at that weight, there'd be very little running that thing with power off and very few people would want to do that for even a little while. Whereas mine being twenty pounds lighter, it's quite practical when one wants to ride a portion of the circuit or the errand on power off, for the purpose of the exercise. In that sense having a more weighty e-bike does in fact create a situation where you have to be fitter to run it for those times. As for myself I feel somewhat guilty every time I take out, yet I enjoy it too. Thus the power off portions. Also I ride it sparingly. Often less than once a week while riding the other two bikes all the other days normally. Mainly it's such a different style of upright ride that it's good for the change of pace.

Strangely fixated on the large wire protruding in a U shape to the rights as we look. Quite strange in a modern bike to have cables so out there.

Absurdly heavy, absolutely no excuse. Handles like a truck. Trash resr suspension and both suspensions are designed for off road control, not on road comfort. Front fender wouldn't keep your shins, much less tour feet, dry. The price is passable le, but not for something this antiquated. No way on God's green earth will that thing do 2/3rds the range they profess. The integrated stem is going to be a nightmare whenever anything goes wrong or for properly fitting it to the Customer. The brakes are entry level for a road bike weighing under 30#'s. They pull you down, but fade is going to be a question. I must admit I an impressed by the headlight and motor spec's
