Key is to roll it smooth like a bowling ball bounce kills momentum going up hill

Throw the ball 10 feet then try to roll it 10 feet, you will see the surface friction will slow the ball down more when it is on the ground than the air resistance would slow the ball down if it is in the air; therefore, the best strategy is a low line drive trying to keep it in the air as much as possible without hitting the top of the door while also trying to give it a forward spin.

They should learn physic. Just roll the ball. If your throw it, the bounce will make the ball lose energy.
