Following the large success and great audience reception to Tales of the Jedi, Lucasfilm should not only capitalize with a second season but also with a new Star Wars series dedicated to the Sith Lords. Tales of the Jedi put its focus solely on two characters: Ahsoka Tano and Dooku's past self as a troubled Jedi Master. As such, it wouldn't be hard to use the same model for classic (and perhaps new) characters who instead wield the dark side of the Force. There's also a lot more room for stories of the Sith to be told, as opposed to the Jedi.
Tales of the Jedi is so successful thanks to its simplicity, telling three dynamic stories for each character in what's effectively a six-episode miniseries using the classic Clone Wars animated style. As engaging and entertaining as this first season is, it's undoubtedly the cheapest Star Wars project Lucasfilm has produced for Disney+ in quite some time. As such, it stands to reason that the same model could be easily replicated not only for more Tales of the Jedi but also for Star Wars' Sith Lords who, despite being the primary villains of the Skywalker saga, are far more mysterious with origins and canonical backgrounds worthy of exploration.
-Screen Rant
Count Dooku was always an extremely mult-faceted character with his foot in almost every side. He was the epitome of a grey jedi, along with his apprentice Qui-Gon Jinn.
Dooku truly had good intentions in the beginning. Unlike other Jedi, he saw the corruption going through the Republic and how it was hurting it's citizens but unfortunately, Sidious used that as a means of manipulating Dooku for his own evil agenda. Tales of the Jedi should’ve been a Count Dooku series of at least 20 episodes. Dooku has so much story potential. His life was fascinating.
Both Ahsoka and Dooku will eventually leave the Order of the Jedi, for different reasons. Dooku’s fall to the Dark Side is heavily foreshadowed in the early episodes of the show, while Ahsoka’s close connection to the Force is also presented in the forefront.
On top of that, ‘Practice Makes Perfect’ shares a heartbreaking insight into how Ahsoka survived Order 66, the bloodiest act in Jedi history.

The Ahsoka episodes were fine but underwhelming by comparison. Practice makes Perfect was the only one I thought was really great. I don't think anyone needed baby Ahsoka and it's kinda annoying that in the last episode Filoni just had to go out of his way to ret-con the Ahsoka novel again when there are so many other stories he could tell that don't interfere with established canon

The way I see it, Dooku wasn’t initially evil, he had good intentions, but all those years of being ignored and drove him to get desperate, to run straight towards evil. Dooku was a walking spoiler...Greek irony. The ultimate protagonists the Jedi Council were brought down not by the Sith, but by their own hubris. Anakin brought balance to the force by eliminating two dogmatic orders who were parasitic to the Force. Dooku had a sense of justice that Nietzsche warned about. Dooku stared too long into the abyss while fighting the injustice of the galaxy and the abyss claimed his soul. There is a lot to learn from this great fictional character. One must not become a monster while fighting monsters.
@DarthNoox
@DarthNoox 6 ай бұрын
Something I thought of while watching this was a quote from Kreia, "To believe in an ideal, is to be willing to betray it" and while this is of course open to interpretation, I think it fits Dooku's situation quite well. As a Jedi he was there to protect the people of the Republic, and he began to see the failings of the Jedi, their blind adherence to the senate, the unchanging ways of the Council. He clung to his ideal, and so he betrayed the Council, the Jedi for a greater goal, and took on the mantle of Darth Tyranus. He changed because of this, but still held to the core of his ideal until his death

Dooku is underrated. My favorite Sith Lord by a country mile. He didn’t become a sith because he was corrupted by the power of the dark side or manipulated/seduced by a Sith Lord to change sides. He simply was tired of the corruption of the republic as well as the Jedis blind eye towards serving a corrupt system that was clearly using them for personal gain. He joined the Sith because he thought it was the only way to change the system. Dooku didn’t fall to the dark side, he chose it. And not for the power of the dark side, but rather for the ideals of the Sith. And though he did suffer through anguish of turning on his friends, and anger towards the Jedi order, he never let his emotions guide him deeper down the path of the darkness. He kept true to his own nature and ideals. That’s why he didn’t show any dark side corruption like with other Sith. He was a true boss character.
@theblueraven764
@theblueraven764 Жыл бұрын
That may have been the case innitially, but by the time of AoTC he had definitely gotten his vision and desires twisted by the Dark side, and was corrupted by it. All the books I've read on him have been very clear on that, and they are canon. That said, he definitely immersed himself in the dark side less than other users, and continued to fight in a calm and collected manner rather than the sheer rage that sith usually use. So he was certainly different to other sith. Probably because he still believed his vision was right, despite how deformed it had become in the end. He's a very tragic character to say the least. And definitely a failure of the Jedi and the Republic.

I believe Dooku is one of the best written characters to go from Jedi to Sith. Everything about him, from upbringing, mindset, philosophy, his ideals as a Master to QuiGon, and even his thoughts as a Sith, they all make sense. When you meet Dooku, for the first time you are confused, we like the character, and we understand why he is doing what he is doing. He is the first Sith that made sense to me, every other Sith was tainted by some emotion, some trauma, some darkness you just couldnt relate to. But then you have Dooku's sense of justice, his view of order, or discipline, a driving idealism that cannot bend or compromise. His death is a surprise, and a brilliant move from Palpatine. Nobody is able to defeat him, not in a fight, less in an intellectual battle. Only Anakin, and that he did only because he was drunk on emotion. Dooku knew he was not supposed to die, nothing was gained by it. He thought his ideals were set on the right things. Palpatine's brilliant move outstripped everything Dooku meant and fought for and signified in one fell swoop.

I hope Disney gives us more of Dooku's side of the story in Star wars ( first time they did something right with the franchise lately.)

Kaikon Jin is a new Jedi according to KZfaq subtitles, it seems that he resembles the appearance of Qui Gon Jin, but he is a fine addition to the saga! 0:21

Am I the only one who wants a young Dooku Clone Wars style animated series?

No I'm up for it as well. They should make Dooku Jedi Lost into a series so they they can cover all of his canon background. It's 6.5 hours long so would be great split over 2, 6 episode series.

Dooku absolutely won my sympathy, while the image of the Jedi has gotten even worse.

The Ahsoka episodes were very meh. The one where Anakin taught her how to survive order 66 was cool. But even for a short it felt too dragged out with the same scene happening over and over, her doing a bit better and Anakin saying to do it again. The last episode had a very slow pace and it was a built up to a fight that was over in 5seconds. I get that she's powerful but they didn't need to make her oponent so weak. The fight that ended Mauls life was perfect for being short because of the reasons for it. But Ahsoka vs Inquisitor could have at least been a bit longer
