This survey is a sham and is not factual and bias. I have yet to see homeless in big cities and rural areas in China but I see a lot of homeless in USA practically in more than 50 cities in USA that is so very obvious and an educated guess would number more than many millions if those living in cars and small vans. @@kimberlyboldt5213 When I researched the homeless pop in the state of CA it showed 181,399. However, i know from having lived in SF, & now in LA that is way low. Mind you, a staggering $17.5 BILLION has been spent in the past 4 years to combat said issue. And the pop simply grows daily. The sheer volume of dangerous mentally ill ppl, off their meds & armed with make shift weapons - roaming our streets is mind altering!

In the UK we used to have non profit housing protected by a Fair Rents Laws which reduced homelessness to almost zero. But it got abolished by the Neoconservatives in the 1970s

It's well documented that Japan doesn't like shining any light on their homeless population. There are thousands of working individuals that have to stay in cramped reading cafés and cheap hotels because they can afford regular rent. This is seen as a loophole for their homeless population census because they can classify such dwellings as a legal place of residence. And no, these individuals are not happy to live in a closet size shared space and they know they're homeless.

For me, if the place has a BATHROOM, Then it is a home. A place where you can shower can be considered a home. Most automobiles dont have a bathroom

There's not one homeless in Turkiye, only those who reject assistance due to preference are 'homeless'. Neither the government nor the public allows anyone to be homeless, they'll home them anyway possible. But some who reject any help due to psychological reasons prefer to live outside.

@@KenanTurkiye It is usually more complicated than that. I don't know about the specifics from Turkey, but I am German and sometimes you hear a similar argument here. And technically its not incorrect. Homeless people can at any given time go to a specific government agency to get help. But this kind of help, in every country I know of, always has some strings attached to it. Denying that people who don't want to accept those strings therefore aren't actually homeless solves absolutely nothing.

US homeless is much higher as there are so many living in garden sheds and cars, Vans . Ireland with a population of about 5 million has a rate of homelessness the same as Russia with a population of over 147 million ! This just demonstrates that so many elected Gov do not have their priorities in order . Something is very wrong when Parkerstan , a nuclear State has 8 million homeless folk !

These staggering figures should also be seen in relation to the size of a country. Take Germany and France, for example, which are actually so-called rich countries. These figures are the result of resources and wealth being concentrated in the hands of a few people and corporations, and policies being made only for them. There would be enough space and resources for everyone, but greed and the desire for power create massive inequality between rich and poor.

I think 'homeless ' has different meanings in different countries. The NZ figure is way too high unless you count the hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries living in state housing which isn't exactly homeless. We have a few hundred actually living in streets and under bridges and most of those would have been in mental hospitals until they shut them all down. A horrible outcome for everyone.

Same in Australia. I do not understand. Nurses are assigned to the homeless mentally ill. The nurses keep complaining that they are unable to look after them properly, even monitoring their meds, My friend developed mental illness in his mid-thirties. Before that he was normal and successful in his line of work and had a goods income, He was given a government flat and disability pension but he couldn't manage his money. Not just due to his illness but the meds "fried" his brain. The deterioration was scary to watch. He was given the flat and prescribed meds but otherwise, he was left to his own devices. In the end, his sister was paying his rent. I had to bail him out twice paying his power bills so that gis electricity didn't get cut off..It's idiocy. The beneficiaries of housing estates do not count as homeless.

in the uk people in bedsit and B and B waiting to be rehoused according to their needs are count as homeless, people not registered living in the street I don't think so. A women was living in the street just got an eviction (no fault eviction) and couldn't find anything she could afford the council told her they are sure she can cope and find somewhere to go so not registered as homeless, so not entitled to support.

Я встречал такую информацию - "В Киеве число бездомных достигает 47 тыс. человек, сообщило 20 января издание страна.юа". Т.е. это только в Киеве. Вики, ссылаясь на какую-то англоязычную базу данных говорит о 734,2 тыс. чел. как об общем количестве бездомных в это стране. В обоих случаях речь идет о довоенном времени.

I guess it depends on what the definition of homeless is. China has over 200 million people that are homeless, this population is called a floating population, and in transition from Rural to Urban that hasnt settled.
