8:09 although we brazilians do sometimes use "rsrsrs", the most common way to type out laughter is also "kkkkkk" just like South Korea (sometimes we also use "ksksksksk"). it doesn't make sense linguistically or phonetically since the letter K has the same sound as it does in english, so it doesn't even sound like laughter. but that's just how it is.

According to the historian Greg Jenner, Atlantis comes from writings by Plato. Plato describes a conversation between his teacher Socrates and three other men about how Athens has overcome different rivals, and one of the other men mentions Atlantis, a supposed island superpower who were defeated in a war with Athens and destroyed by flooding. This man's 'source' was a story from his grandfather, who heard it from his father, who heard it from lawyer who heard it from some Egyptian priests. The priests were also sure that the war between Athens and Atlantis occurred 9000 years beforehand which would have been back in the stone age, long before Athens existed. Other than this long-winded story, there is no evidence for Atlantis in Greek art, literature or archaeology and it's likely that Atlantis was simply a fictional moral tale about how hubris caused the downfall of a great civilisation. In summary, Atlantis was likely made up to prove a point
