My grandparents had a small club in Silver Springs,Nv back in the 60's 70's. They had a house band of older retired musicians who played Reno for years. Slim the guitar player taught me "Chicken Picken " and other tricks. His wife Kathy looked and sounded like Loretta Lynn. Good memories! Reply

Great video, I have been looking at this and other videos for a while. Good instruction and great exercises. Could you talk about how to practice these to get faster? I seem to have hit a wall and I can't seem to get any faster. thanks for all the videos.
@matheuscanteri10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Getting faster is about doing the movement correctly and repeating it thousands of times. You repeat it until it feels natural and easy, then you speed up a bit… It’s a skill that really takes time to develop, but you have to trust the process and keep pushing yourself.

I am new to country playing so bear with me. On the first bar of the first lick, and of course each bar after, when you hammer from D-E you release that E on the B string before plucking the E string instead of letting it ring in unison. Is that staccato note key to it sounding country?

If you have a looper or recorder record a 1 ,4, 5, E, A, B progression jam you like, example folsom prison blues and start playing the E minor pentatonic scale against your loop/record then switch to the E Major pentatonic to hear the minor/major flavor.

What gauge strings are best for this style?
@matheuscanteri Жыл бұрын
I use 9s and I know several other players that use that gauge too. I’d say 9s or 10s, whatever feels better.

Have a problem with fake nails, just from playing.the real nails start pulling away from the fingers, causing nail bruising! Usimg.very light strings!
