I FEEL PRIVILEGED TO BE ALIVE IN A TIME WHERE METALLICA AND IRON MAIDEN ARE IN THEIR LAST EPISODES, ROCKING IN THEIR 60’s TO LEAVE A LEGACY IN METAL LIKE NOT MANY BANDS HAVE IN HISTORY, BOTH BANDS ALREADY STARTED THEIR TOURS IN THIS 2023 🔥🔥🔥

I have been to a dozen concerts and the live part is great as you can feel the music. But the sound quality is a major factor for me now, I prefer clean clear sound. The sound quality in this video is dog do and not worth MY TIME to listen to. I can easily find better quality version of this song. Like this kzfaq.info/get/bejne/grB4g9KIsM2zhH0.html

One of the best things about Dave and Adrian's guitar sounds is the fact that they each play different brands of guitars that each have very different guitar tones.

The harmony solos were a staple of the bands that were part of what became known as the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, or NWOBHM, as it's usually written. It grew out of earlier metal bands like Rainbow doing harmonies between guitar and keyboards...the NWOBHM bands typically didn't have keyboard players, but instead substituted another guitarist.

Unlike every other band at the top of the "greatest" list for heavy metal, Iron Maiden got poor radio play in the US. But how many of those bands pack 6 figure attendences in open arenas like Rio, Santiago, Donnington? And how many are doing it consistently as a working band for 48 years? I loved them in Spokane 2022, looking forward to seeing them again soon and hearing them play from my favorite album, Somewhere in Time, for the first time in about 30some years.

This was from a fantastic concert in 1983 in Dortmund, Germany which had Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, MSG, Krokus, Def Leppard and Quiet Riot. Metal at its best, with these bands a far lot younger then!

Maiden's primary influences include Wishbone Ash, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, early Genesis, Jethro Tull, other prog acts like Yes. Avenged Sevenfold's #1 influence is Iron Maiden. Yes, they are still playing and selling out major arenas and stadiums worldwide. Their European tour starts Sunday. I'll see them Wednesday night in Prague. Interesting Trooper live choice here. There are a number of way better Trooper live performances than this one, but thanks for the reaction.

Maiden fan here. They're still rocking hard! Nice opener with that video, but, that's a super early video. You need to do a deep dive on Maiden, but do it in chronological order old to new then you'll see the progression from raw to refined!

Now they've got three! they pretty much play Fenders now. Dave Murray has a Signature strat, Adrian Smith has a signature Jackson (owned by Fender). Other bands, notably Thin Lizzy were doing the dual guitar riff thing as well.

They've got it all from Thin Lizzy and Wishbone Ash . But Wishbone Ash was the first one to have a guitar duet . The kind of medieval feel of Maiden comes from the album Argus (1972) from Wishbone Ash , but many licks come from Thin Lizzy guitar harmonies . Later , they couldn't escape from the Judas Priest influence . Blend it with punk energy and prog structure you've got Iron Maiden .

"Twin guitar" harmonies were not invented by Iron Maiden. But they were the ones who popularized them. It is said that they were inspired by a band from the late 60's called: Whishbone Ash!!! 🤘😈🎸
@VogonPoet67
@VogonPoet67 Жыл бұрын
A few people below suggested Thin Lizzy might be the first with the twin lead guitarists. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they didn't add a second guitarist until around 1974. There was a brief period of time around 1966 or 67 when both Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page were playing lead guitar in the Yardbirds (can you imagine seeing that show live?). Fleetwood Mac had 2 guitarists in 1967 or 68.The Allman Brothers and Wishbone Ash both had twin lead guitars when they formed in 1969. I don't know when you had the first song doing what you were talking about, but if you go back and listen those bands you can probably trace the evolution of the sound.

@@profanepersonality music is a an end in itself! Sometimes lyrics are good, but music is an art, it’s not poetry, it has its huge influential essence that mainly to evoke emotions and expressing it, make you sad, happy, strong, confident, anxious, afraid, etc., actually Maiden has a very great balance of all of it even in one song by great and clever arrangements, and they are diverse without desertion of their main and original blueprints and styles. But yeah, their lyrics are different often and inform you

It's not just their musicianship that is so good. So are their lyrics. Their lyrics cover such topics as history, literature, war, mythology, society and religion. This song The Trooper was written by bassist and founding-member Steve Harris, the song is based on the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava 1854, which took place during the Crimean War and inspired by Lord Tennyson's 1854 poem of the same name. Run to the Hills is about the European arrival to the "New World," told from the perspective of both the oppressed Cree and the invading Anglo-Saxon soldiers. The first verse ("White man came across the sea, he brought us pain and misery") is from the point of view of the Natives. It's interesting because Iron Maiden is a British band but they know about American history.
