Aaron Lewis - Lost and Lonely Lyrics
I've been shattered and broken, for most of my life
But I've done pretty good, with a job and a wife
Got a family that loves me, and a good piece of land
That I bought with hard work, that I earned with these hands
But these things that I do
I did them for you
So just tell me you love me, and tell me you'll stay
And you'll watch over this house, while I go away
And just promise to be here, when I get back home
So we can start where we left off, all those years ago
Before my demons they took control
Lost and lonely, out here on the road
'Cause I've been careless and selfish, got no self respect
I'm an albatross hanging around my own neck
I'm a hard one to handle, and I've played the fool
And I'm so hard to love, 'cause I break all the rules
But these things that I do
'Cause I couldn't have you
So just tell me you love me, and tell me you'll stay
And you'll watch over this house, while I go away
And just promise to be here, when I get back home
So we can start where we left off, all those years ago
Before my demons they took control
Lost and lonely, out here on the road
So just tell me you love me, and tell me you'll stay
And you'll watch over this house, while I go away
And just promise to be here, when I get back home
So we can start where we left off, all those years ago
Before my demons they took control
Lost and lonely, out here on the road
Lost and lonely, out here on the road

In loving memory of my wife and mother of my 4 children. 6/5/1988-7/15/2021 in the early the morning hours (12:25am) after my birthday she lost her life in a car accident . She sent me this song 2 hours earlier through text , I didn’t get the chance to listen until after I found out she died .She is in peace . The demons no longer will bother her . Fly high baby I love you

Condolences friend. As sad as that is this song was a last bittersweet gift to forever be able to use to feel her presence and dance with her "ghost" anytime you need until you can finally be reunited again. I know of such first hand and it always helped when I needed.

I'm a 36 year old man. When I heard this the first time, I hit my knees and bawled like a baby. When you realize what this song means, it hits you like a million lightning bolts. The love of my life and I are still together but yet I miss her. I'm so lonely. I constantly hurt her in ways it feels I have no control of. All I want to do is make her smile and laugh. She's my everything. It kills me I can't or it feels like I can't give her happiness anymore. Yet she won't leave my side. I just need to know she still loves me. I'm a good hearted man. Faithful, loyal, work hard, but I have demons. Everyone does. They always say if you love someone, set them free. If they come back, it's meant to be. I'd rather die or hurt for the rest of my life so she won't hurt anymore in any way. Damn, this song knows my heart. If anyone else is in my situation, I don't care what others say. Go with your heart. If you care more for your loves happiness, set them free. Love hurts but it also is pure bliss. But the what ifs are the hardest part. What if next week things get back the way they used to be and you're both are on top of the world again? Trust me, I know how you're feeling. Thanks to the uploader of this song. It's changed my life. God bless to whomever stuck around and read all of this. Joshua

Been lost and lonely for 26 years. Being bullied in school..drugs...prison........rehab.... kids....freedom.... things are good now..11 years sober *Edit 5/17/22 I'm not doing well... I've been drinking liquor daily for months. I traveled 250 miles to see my daughters and was left in the dark. I called, went there, left notes, and nothing happened. My truck completely broke down on my way home and had to kiss it goodbye. I rode a greyhound and it took 14 hours to travel what would usually be 4. Anyways, I've been messing up since then. Sucks

Me and my husband met on the road homeless almost 15 years ago. We built a great life, fought for a good life, had beautiful babies, a beautiful home, and really turned everything around. He found me shattered, lost and hitchhiking alone and protected me ever since. I started my own business, and everything looks pretty good from the outside. We look like a miracle story. But I have suffered from severe depression and alcoholism for years, with too many demons to mention. I'll stay sober for a very long time, but if I relapse I'm gone for days, hiding in my car/hotel a complete fucking mess. When I'm gone he takes care of our home and babies, and he's never given up on me. It's like I've told myself I've never deserved any of them or my life today. He loved me so hard until I finally started to love myself. This song hits home. It started playing when I was gone once and my plan was to never come back and leave this world. After this song I got myself to a meeting, came back home and haven't left or drank since. I now believe I meant to be there for him, my babies and life. This song literally saved my life.

11 weeks ago on April 1, 2022 I lost my husband of 9 years to alcohol induced psychosis. He ended his life in front of me. No warnings. His demons yelled louder then he could fight. Sober, he LOVED life, loved the memories we made and plans for the future. Always said nothing was worth taking your life. Our journey is over. Gone in the blink of an eye. I wish he would have taken me with him for the pain, guilt and regrets are unbearably heart wrenching. He felt drawn to Aarons music for he could relate due to Aarons battle with addiction and his political views. Him and I would see Aaron in concert at every acoustic tour. Even traveled 6 hours for his show!

For what it's worth!! Stay as Strong as you can! Losing a loved one is a painful journey, but a journey that builds an extraordinary individual if done with strength and faith! Listen to this song at least twice a day . Father of a beautiful 2 year old daughter and a handsome 2 day old baby boy . Still fighting my own demons but I won’t let that get in the way of my children’s happiness. Much love too everyone reading this , keep pushing forward.

Damien, demons always try to find a way to beat you or bring you down, but life has its ways to protect you. Your children are the force field that helps you realise when things get clouded that the rays of sunshine to guide you thru are your kids! The love and care you give them will make you the father they will love always!! I have my kids who remind me everyday that no matter how shitty life can get, their sunshine will raise me up and fight on!! Big man hugs from the Uk

I'm a grown man and this song makes me cry everytime I hear it. The relation I have to it is scary. Maybe I wasnt the best man all the time. But when your lost and lonely it makes you do things you normally wouldnt do. But this song means alot to me. I suffer from severe Anxiety and depression and I've drank my life away for the past 7 years. I've been alive for 26 years and I cant say I remember the last 4 years. Alcohol is my way out of panic and anxiety. I've cheated on my girlfriend of 8 years, I've betrayed her and left her when her and my son looked up to me. But being lost and lonely in your head does something to you. It changes you. You fear change, you fear love, and better yet you fear yourself because of the self destruct you do to your own mind, body and soul. My demon is anxiety and alcohol and it ruined the man I was dreaming to become for the love of my life.

Watching my wife leave with my two kids has been the hardest thing to overcome. I did it to myself and I made mistakes but I hope she knows how much I love her and our babies and that I’m grateful for the time we had. I want her to be happy even without me and it hurts but I know she deserves so much more. It took 10 years to understand her needs and I failed as a man but I love her and my babies. I want them happy no matter the cost. My queen, my prince and my princess I love you.

I was in Iraq in 04-05 was a 50 Gunner/convy security. I suffer from PTSD and mild traumatic brain injury according to the VA. To me this song speaks volumes to me. I'm home with the family but often something triggers my mind and takes me back to the desert for a few. Makes me feel lost and lonely when I realize I'm at home....safe. the demons are alcohol.... trying to keep the memories out of my head. This has almost cost me my marriage several times. This song hits home!!!

Love this song seems all I’ve tried the last 3 weeks have not been good for me. I’ve lost all my family from cancer to old age. I’ve lost faith in everything. Just hope the ones I do have left forgive me for what might happen to myself. Lost a girlfriend to some guy that killed here I don’t think I can make it anymore and I do she this is how country used to be and the song is good.
