We had the delight of spending a few days in the AirBnB of Kathy and Bob at The Permaculture Provision Project.
They are building an agricultural, architectural and social permaculture system, utilizing permaculture principles, the Workaway exchange platform, and their expertise in architectural design and builds.
Rich in their faith and abounding in wonderful hospitality, I so look forward to staying in touch and seeing their progress.

How do you know it's not the devil? Kinda like how Paul refused to confirm his own vision when faced with taking the nazarite vow. He took the vow and brushed his experience under the rug, not wanting to acknowledge he was in fact teaching differently than the disciples. Your Bible says to judge prophets, not individual possession, by their fruits. If you followed said biblical guidance, you'd contrast Muhammad (peace be upon him) against the supposed messengers from your favorite Christian branches, and likely revert to the former if pursuing truth. Even Jesus (peace be upon him) called God "Alaha", the closeness to Islam is blatant for anyone with honest intent.

God has been moving me for years to do a very similar plan in the high desert of southern Oregon with an earthship home. So encouraging to see other who has similar plans in their hearts. It’s amazing how he plants seeds in us and we plant our own seeds both literally and spiritually. He works in such amazing ways and we can form a deeper relationship with Him through working closer with His creation. We will be needed in the tribulation to come. ❤️ 🙏

We have been using an Endomycorrhizal Inoculant on all of our seeds to innoculate the soil and have recently begun using UnSulfered Molasses as a fertilizer in our driplines (one cup per gallon max, but the plants will react to much smaller amounts. The concept is to innoculate and feed the soil rather than feeding the plants, and it really works well for us.

This type of living has been and will always be all around the world. Christian or not. It's only when others want to destroy this way and follow another path that leads to being a slave to others agendas. This is what is called the free man's way that has learned! Great video! So happy that you made this, thank you! I‘m very interested in the background: how much did the land cost, how much the house, how did she afford all of that- did she work full-/parttime while build everything up? how did she make the shift from her ‚previous‘ life ‚before‘ she moved there

All it takes is time. You can have a “normal” job while attending your home/farm during non-working hours. She also has some farm hands helping. They bought the property over 20 years ago, from her statement at the beginning of the vid. That area is most likely pretty affordable, esp rural property 20 years ago.. I am sure the air bnb provides some additional income also. Permaculture values include everything coming full circle and giving back to your community bc you are providing for them also. Working with others in her area, helps with costs of maintenance. Example, cost of soil is practically nothing bc once you have the compost established, it becomes productive for many years and builds your soil to grow your food. Solar power, water catchment, wood, etc is reusable resource.. Every thought and action of permaculture has meaning to regenerate and sustain for generations, providing cost reduction, reduced waste, and functionality that wont need paper money. Re-watch the full vid all the way to the end. Pay attention to what she says and what she has created. its pretty cool and im fairly certain you will find your answer upon watching it fully

@@Alephinaction easiest way to get involved, is to look for permaculture courses offered in your local community. Getting that network of like minded people really gets actions completed. I work FT, but also try to attend certain events or volunteer on non working hours when its possible for my schedule. Def cant do everything I would like to, but just having the information so you can pick and choose what interests you or educates further, is a helpful start that I would recommend. Not giving up your life, but just being a little piece of the puzzle. It has brought joy into this capitalist society that i just don’t connect with. I hope you find your happiness too, however that occurs. Believe in it and find it, it will happen if u want it

Two little considerations I recently learned. The two basic ecosystems first need to consider the microbiology. There is the fungi ecosystem, which is basically the forest, woody plants and the mushrooms in the wood chips is a reminder of the relationship that "happened". The other is the bacterial ecosystem that is more of the grassy and herbaceous types of plants. The point is that the two types are not the same base microbiological organisms doing the decomposition. So they produce different type of products that change the soil differently.

Kindness is the basis of compassion. So many different religions out there, but the same base essential teaching. The World, Humanity, and all living things are interdependent (ecological relationships), but there is the deeper understanding of it's all us together. We can't survive without the Earth and all the living things here are intertwined. So it's all God if you will. And the one base rule is: Don't kill.
@TheIntegratedGarden
@TheIntegratedGarden 10 ай бұрын
Greetings, friend. Thank you for your valuable input. Just a very friendly suggestion/proposal as a "yes, and" to your stated only rule of Don't Kill. What is more ultimate and transcendent of that rule, is to love and become love. In true, sacrificial love (as exemplified in the one who laid down His life for all, including those who rejected him and still do) is found the fulfillment of every good rule, and is found the essence of who God is. In other words, if you don't kill, but are careless with your words, you are still killing or hurting others in a different way. And even if you live by the rule of not speaking harsh things, that is good, but it is infinitely better when you no longer ever want to, because of the total transformation of being born again into the One who is called Love. Sacrificial love frees us from the matrix of self-seeking, self-preservation and selfishness, which we were never meant for in the first place. Every wrong act/sin is found in those selfish things. Selfless love brings suffering in this world system, but with it, the ultimate freedom that no one and no thing can ever take from you. It brings us back into the destiny, calling and relationship with the Divine that we were meant for, and thus, we become expressions of this beautiful restoration. Blessings to you and your journey.

~12:30 you need to get the rocket stove to fully combust the wood gases before passing through any heat sink or you will have creasote buildup that can lead to a pipe fire. you do this by allowing additional air in after the combustion chamber. the addition of oxygen and the high heat of the rocket action causes the secondary combustion

She referred to growing trees in a (Spring Bed) for a couple of years before planting them out. Can someone help me understand what a spring bed is?

Spring beds, in her case, are specially prepared for young, bare root trees that you plant close enough together so that they have each other's company (shading, and more easily managed moisture) as they root out a little (especially helpful in extreme hot, harsh and dry areas) before planting them out in their final destination on the property. It is essentially a test and transition bed to see how they perform, as well.

I've always wanted to be a farmer, but all I manage to farm is my front yard and some cats lol. Technically I live in a desert, but it's a low urban desert with way too many people. When I moved in here, they didn't even have grass growing. It was just dirt and a few trees. Every dirt area is now filled with grass, roses, cacti and other plants because of us. I have onions in a pot that I never pick. I just let them go to seed every year because the bees love them. Sometimes I cut the green part and use those. Since I use the compost/steer manure they sell at Home Depot in my pots as their soil, the runoff has fertilized the dirt around them and allowed grass to grow. I tried to have chickens during the pandemic, but my neighbors complained and the city made me get rid of them. But while I did have them, I put them in a cage in the front yard and moved them when they ate all the grass. You could literally see the rectangular patch where the chickens used to be was so much greener and bigger than the area right next to it the following year. It was like grass on steroids just because of chickens! I want to do what you are doing, but it is too much work for just my family to do it by themselves. I would need a community of people like you were saying. Who knows, maybe in a few years I can come visit your community and see if it's a good fit for me. I can't wait to see what the future brings.

What is a “spring bed”?
@kathycurry761
@kathycurry761 Жыл бұрын
Hi Kellen, we put bare root tree in a spring bed that is just a very long garden bed about 15’ long by 2’ wide and give them a chance to get a good start. That can be in this bed for up to 2 years. Some do great right away and we pull them out in the winter and plant them in their new spot before they wake up. They usually do quite well with this beginning. Thanks for the question.

Watching this turns off all the noise and anger out there. No Call of Duty videos, no war shorts, no businesses selling you shiny stuff that you don't want, no Monday Night Football, no picketers lining up to defend some regressive ideology.

The community is the key, but it doesn't come from outside of people. What people believe is "god" is the essence of life that is within us all. We are all part of the whole there is nothing above that nor nothing below that. Earth is one living system.

Hello sister. What a beautiful setup you have created there. Keep doing what you are doing, I would like to bring your attention back for a moment to the picture frame you have hanging on the wall, quoting the whole passage. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6. God will send you the right people to join you , that will work as a team during a crisis. When God puts together a team its always the right one. This is already happening around the globe. Thanks for sharing your project with us, a rich blessing upon you , your family and those that come to the property. Greetings from Australia God bless .
