In Denmark we were the first country to give homosexual people registered partnerships, which gave them the same rights as normal marriage. But they couldn't get married in a church, but everything else was the same and equal. We then in 2012 changed the bill and gay marriage was legal, but the only difference, was that you now can get married in a church, if the priest accepts it :) So we were allowed to be partners and have the same equal rights as a gay couple since 1989 :) but the word marriage was added in 2012 :)
