no matter how hard I try every single time I always loose it. you can hear the pain and emotion in her voice. My father abandoned me as a kid and we don't have a relationship, so this digs pretty deep.

I think all of us “kids” who have experienced the same thing, feel exactly like Kelly. We cling to hurt people because we have been hurt. This song resonates with so many, of us. Kelly deserves all the accolades, awards, money, fame, and especially love; that comes her way! She is a very special person, woman and mother! A very genuine woman with a great deal of heart and soul. I wish only the best, to all of you who have suffered through a childhood like mine. All we can do is just be kind to each other. And you know what? We are survivors! ❤️

Maybe not so LOL. His dad had just died a few months before, so listening to an entire song about a father had to be a tad not lol

Lyrically, this song is powerful and when combined with a simple piano backdrop and Kelly's personal experiences to this song and it makes for a very universal and intimate moment. I cried my eyes out hearing this especially when she was breaking down towards the end.

I’m just seeing this reaction. I myself am auditioning for Americas got talent in 12 days on December 9th and I’m going to be singing this song- piece By piece. My dad also left me when i was 6 years old and it’s been really hard not growing up without a dad, having my brothers grow up without a dad as well. He turned his back and walked out the door, and then he stopped slowly showing up to talent shows, baseball games, piano recitals, birthdays and he also slowly stopped calling and texting us and coming to see us. I then found out he had been together with this lady and i got really mad because seeing him with someone else tore my heart into pieces. To this day he is 20,000 dollars behind in child support. Because he hasn’t paid in so long it caused us to loose our house and we’ve been having a super difficult time lately he especially separated my family. So i relate to this song in many ways and it would really mean the world if you guys could pray and support me and hopefully things go good at the audition!!!

I'm not sure how your reaction to this song is about her dress and her hair color? What about the song lyrics? I'm pretty sure that whoever suggested that you check out "Piece by Piece" by Kelly Clarkson wanted your reaction to this emotional story...just my opinion!
@marleinasmom3 жыл бұрын
How far into the video did you get before you wrote that? It can take longer than a minute to get the feel of a song. I'm glad she opened with the comments about the dress and her hair- it makes the progression to tears by the end even more poignant.

You TALKED OVER the most affecting lyric in the song - TWICE. How do you expect to give an educated, full reaction when you KEEP TALKING OVER THE THING YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE REACTING TO??? “… he filled the holes that you BURNED IN ME AT SIX YEARS OLD.” TWICE you missed that line.
