I'm special that way! Mouse crew was watching me extra close. I just smiled.

I was riding a chair lift in Milwaukee once and looked up at the cable about to run off the roller on one of the towers. As soon as I got off I told the attendant. Just. few minutes later they stopped the lift and had maintenance making the repair. So yes, some of us like watching mechanical stuff.

I'm also a "geek" like that. I go to amusement parks or anyplace to watch how things work.

When I worked on Boone and Scenic Valley, our passenger cars were old enough as to where they also had quite a bit of slack in their couplers as well. Definitely gave me more than a bunch of experience, both doing that and the freight runs for what I'll soon be doing on either NS or BNSF, whichever sends me their conditional offer first.

They're supposed to have slack. That's how they're designed

Looks like it's working properly. As long as it doesn't come unlocked.

I took the tour a few years back. Was surprised to learn the loco has no brakes, only the tender and passenger cars.

Normally you don’t grease the coupler knuckle. It’s just to keep it from making noise I bet.

I loved the animal kingdom when I went. Also everyone is touring animals and youre watching the couple. That s something I'd do.

Very satisfying, watched it twice.

That's pretty sloppy alright. But in a short-run case like this probably doesn't matter. Maybe only couple of cars anyway.

I thought we were gonna see these couplers extend when train begins movn and insert themselves back into the draw box once momentum takes off when cars slow down, this video is no good, DO OVER.
