I do not remember someone from family not allowing me to talk, but mostly the reason why I am quiet is that I don't want to be bullied. I don't want to be picked on or people making fun of what I said incorrectly. Keeping quiet can make you look more wise but if you say or ask something stupid then you will look stupid or your low selfesteem will be too obvious from words. I just don't want people picking on me. Maybe there was truth about not upsetting others too. But mainly, I don't wanna be bullied. I turned 30 now and I am slowly realizing how silenced I was all these years, throught whole childhood without realizing it. I thought If I am expressing myself throught drawing or writing - it is the same as expressing myself fully. But it wasn't. Nothing can compare to the power of voice, the sound of voice, the vibration of each letter etc. It is very hard for me. Because being bullied and experiencing another emotional abuse (narcissistic abuse - several of them), made me to shut myself down even more. But even when I ws quiet - there is always someone picking on me. I tried to talk in past. I am introvert and when extroverts pushed me to talk I felt like they feel boring by what I am saying, like I have nothing good or interesting to say. And also in some cases when I felt very angry at my best friend, I wanted so badly to shout out all my pain he was causing me but I just couldn't because I was afraid of losing him. I never had special connection with anyone else like I had with him so I could never truly express my feeling because I KNEW he would unfriend me. He did replaced me even before for someone who is "light hearted". And I was freshly after break up with narcissist, so of course I was devastated. I should have scream at him all my feelings, but I didn't want to add him anything bad because I knew he is going throught something too. I thought that writing in journal can counter the speaking. But no. Even after years I feel bitterner about what he did because I never told him all my feelings about being hurt by him. Wish I hadn't all these obstacles in speaking freely. Wish I was confident enough to say my stuff.

It is never too late. I am sorry you had this experience...this is why tapping can be so great. you can tap on all the feelings and all the things you wished you had said. You may just find that this feels empowering to you and you find your voice again. Even against the bullies :)

Thanks for this! It was actually while tapping this morning on feeling frustrated and tired, that it came up that I am in the process of speaking up for myself in a longterm friendship, and that the very fact I'm doing that courageous work is super positive, and also exhausting! So, I had the, "overdue conversation" you mentioned before seeing this video. I'm saying no to behaviour that, if it was directed at her, would be met with a Scorched Earth response... yet she is not even acknowledging what I'm saying (unless you count a blaming/shaming response, which I don't). So it's sad, too. But I am speaking up for myself, not needing her to change but willing to let go of the friendship if it is really this hollow that we can't kindly talk this through... the one thing you didn't say, that I was told as a kid, was "your feelings don't count, but everyone else's are important and must be treated with care". I love that you said one thing to lose by not speaking up is the opportunity to grow...

Good for you for having the conversations and speaking up. Even if someone can’t validate your feelings, you can do it for yourself. Keep showing up for yourself 🩷😊🙏

This describes so much of my behavior. I'm going to repeat. Actually, came to this looking for something to deal with violation of boundaries. It's so invalidating. Have you covered this in any of your videos?

Hello Julie I liked the tapping you just did however you started on the top of the head when Nick Ortner starts at the eyebrow. Does it matter where you start? I subscribed to your Channel. I love to see more of your Tapping Videos. I am the person you met on your Facebook Page that does a lot of walking for exercise. Thanks Julie love to see you on your next Video. Nicolas.

Thank you Nicolas. It doesn't matter where you start. I learned waaayyy back in the early days to start on top of the head and continued every since. or you can start over the eyebrow...no difference, you just have to do it! And Yes, I remember who you are :) Thanks for following me here...more to come!
