This is so cool! I work at Starbucks but dont drink caffeine. The original mango dragonfruit has so much caffeine and sugar so it is awesome to see a different version of it. Thank you for sharing!

Mrs Otter where does the caffeine comes from in the original? I drink minimal caffeine as well..it makes me too jittery!

So the original recipe is just a box of base that they send which is mango dragon fruit flavored. It is already pre-sweetened so we have no control of that. The base is made with green coffee beans which is the purest form of coffee so it has the most caffeine a coffee bean can give you. The more you roast a bean the less caffeine there is and since it isn't roasted at all there is a lot of caffeine. Then we mix that half and half with either water, lemonade, or coconut milk, add freeze dried dragon fruit pieces, ice, and shake. This seems very similar to the orginal recipe and can be adjusted a lot more based on sugar preferences and how much of each flavor you actually want.

Amanda Cox it's the same recipe it just uses strawberry acai base and freeze dried strawberries instead.

OMG...My Starbucks is always out & I am SOOOO ordering that powder, but our Kroger also sells Dragon Fruit so I might try a combo of both! You & your mom seriously need to start a separate cooking channel like 1-2 X’s a week!! If you decide to have an “End Of Chemo” party, I will totally still come & help cook, plus be bartender & make a Courtney’s Cocktail using this as the base!! 🤗💜😘

Hi Courtney I hope everything's going good and your feeling better ..I was wondering did you buy the Starbucks vanilla pump at Starbucks and is it made with stevia or real sugar?? Im not a big fan of the fake sugars ..Ive tried to get use to them but they leave an after taste in my mouth and makes me nauseated

I always got the dragon drink with almond milk instead of coconut milk. So i tried this recipe with almond milk instead and it was definitely exactly like Starbucks dragon drink. Love it.

I tried making this but not with silk coconut milk and for some reason it won’t mix properly with the juice? Like it looks like rotten milk, any ideas why? Also the drink does taste good but it doesn’t taste anything like the original.

First of all there are two different drinks at Starbucks when it comes to mango fruit. You can also mix this with iced tea if you don't want to add a lot of calories to it. The small pieces of dragon fruit you see in the one at Starbucks is the frozen dragon fruit you find that Meijer. It comes like that and they usually add some.

Only difference is that your version has no caffeine and we make it with water as the standard but you can always add or substitute it. We don’t put any additional sweeteners in our refreshers either and I feel like with the mango fruit juice and the vanilla it would be too sweet.

I tried this and skipped the sweetener; it was still too sweet for my liking. I added a little bit of fresh squeeze lemon juice and that was really good. Might try it with unsweetened coconut milk next!

Because of you I got a Mango Dragonfruit. But now they’re out until Aug. I am in Seattle area. Edit to say maybe use a Mango tea bag or make it the day before, for the caffeine.
