Good video. I've been dealing with other guys with bad hygiene since the high school locker room days and it really surprises me how far they get in life never picking up on obvious grooming habits like these.

I’m a huge advocate for proper hygiene already but I still watched the whole video bc your presentation is so enjoyable. From a gym rat perspective more ppl need to bring hygiene to the forefront of discussion. Too many guys in the gym reek from 20ft away.

Aloe Gel to soothe and repair skin 4. Skin tag patches for acne (& more) 5. Natural Basics: Heavy Hydration, Sleep, Exercise, Stretching, Meditation, Brushing Hair, Nutrition, Herbs, etc... Also if you're good at brushing & use whitening toothpaste consistently and don't have a scraper, a good toothbrush can work to brush the tongue & makes a big difference!

I know people love their skincare routines but Ive found that doing the least amount possible and eating well has been the best thing for my skin. Exfoliate every so often yes but not a bunch of stuff going on. I think women could reallt benefit from that as well

Could someone recommend a good alternative to Deodorant? I've read from several sources, originating from multiple countries (US/EU/BR) that showering every day, or twice a day, isn't good for your skin and should be avoided. (Read Harvard's explanation.) BUT - in a warm country like Brazil, showering often is considered the norm. The example Courtney uses seems a bit excessive considering showering and using deodorant right before you work out and doing it again 60/90min later isn't healthy. I get it, women don't like stinky men. And washing your armpits and southern regions very well is a must. No arguments. But spraying chemicals on my body every day is something I try to avoid. The same applies to most perfumed shower/douche gels. Which should not be used to clean your lady part. (Not my words.) And no offense, the smell coming from down under varies greatly. Personally, I like to swim and get it all done for the day. It's also good very good for your back. But yeah, if anyone has some alternatives or recommendations, it's greatly appreciated! (Living in Brazil, spending a lot of time in the sun (uv-index 15, even in winter) destroys your skin. They also generally shower with poor quality water. Yet, many people believe showering should be done twice a day there. Whereas in Japan, and I've heard this from friends who live there, the ladies shower twice a week. And never smelled bad.)

I have heard this being said a few times before so it bears repeating - women will respect an average-looking guy who takes good care of himself a lot more than a good-looking guy who does not, and who fills his body with trash and does not groom himself. Proper grooming and hygiene do go a long way.

If you’re a guitarist learning from a classical teacher worth their salt, yes, longer nails are a requirement on one’s picking hand. However, part of what I was taught and what I teach my students is proper nail care and a good nail care kit is essential in any classical guitar case.

I am a jazz guitarist (that's all I post here), and I can confirm that at a very high level of classical guitar playing that I think most people are not doing you do need long nails in specific shapes for each finger in order to play fingerstyle most efficiently (I have a guitar professor who is constantly filing his nails in to shape). In every other discipline of guitar playing this is largely unnecessary. Hope I could clear that up

I was having writers block and watched your video on how to tell if she doesn't like you, and I was able to type out 10 pages because this lead to that, and that lead to this, and a subplot emerged from another thing. The last time you mentioned it is what got me to take it seriously. (Maybe that sweet, sincere voice of yours?). Anyway… I work hard to stay in shape & I’m very particular about what I put in my body. But…. All these years I neglected my largest organ, my skin. Not anymore. Classical guitar does require longer than normal nails, but not really long nails. Just slightly long. A lot depends on their own finger shape.

Power toothbrush was recommended to me by my hygenist since she knew I didn't like the dentist. That was 24 years ago. She assessed me 12 years ago after and said "yeah, we made the right call" as my teeth were in really good shape despite not having been to the dentist. Also, re nails, only classical guitar players really need them and even then, only on the string plucking hand (usually right). Most others play with a pick. For a bassist like myself, short nails are the way to go. Especially for the big upright monster I play.

I only needed to implement a skin care routine during the last year of middle school and the first couple years of high school. Occasionally, it does dry out, but I always just put a small dab of lotion on any of the problem areas and I am set. Also, that combination shampoo-conditioner doesn't work. Get the shampoo and conditioner separate, and actually let the products do what they are intended to do.

I brush my teeth, mouthwash, shave, shower good, clip my nails, style my hair, wear deodorant and cologne and dress nice. I’m not really part of the skincare routine group but I do put lotion on my face after I shave. Skincare routine seems a bit much to me. But I appreciate you trying to help us guys out. And I am a guitar player so on my right hand my middle and ring finger nails are grown out a little bit I keep them clean.

Not sure if it matters, but I use the tongue scrub before I brush my teeth, not after. I don't use it every day.

The long nails for guitar is dependent on what style of guitar you play. You don't need them if you play electric, however if you're playing a nylon guitar for classical music; having longer nails helps to finger pick. I've needed them before but now I keep them trimmed because I no longer play that style, I only play electric.

I've been using black seed oil on my skin. It's been amazing.

For certain styles of guitar like flamenco, classical, and country, you do need to have longer nails on your picking/strumming hand.

Guitar player here, Nails a no go. It makes a weird sound while playing guitar and you cannot press the strings down to well.

Love your take on things. Short term subscriber, but life long fan. If you are comfortable with a little polite criticism though...These things which you described today are definitely things that will help men attract women. The reason I know this , is that these are ALL things that women do to attract men...Women spend a LOT of time , energy, and resources to achieve these particular things. When you focus on these things, you tend to notice when other's don't. Men have never expected a woman to know hoe to adjust a carburetor in a vehicle, let alone actually do it...That's in a man's wheelhouse...Changing out and sharpening the lawn mower blades is much the same. There are things that are stereotypical male...and stereotypical female. We all know them...And we all appreciate them in the opposite sex. And while "bonus" points are certainly viable and desirable. No decent woman is turning away from a man because of the current status of his fingernails. My point is this. Keep plugging the basics....Be a gentleman..Be kind to others...CARE about something...ANYTHING... And be loyal to the woman who is loyal to you... I hope I haven't offended anyone. NOT my intentions. But in the interest of helping the men who work hard jobs and have hard lives to support there families...It's O.K. to skip the pedicure..;)

Here here. I'm a male that works in an office in a manufacturing environment. I routinely interact with groomed, decently dressed office people and also manufacturing, dirty, blue collar assembly and manufacturing people. I also find certain things gross and unsavory: BO is the PITS. It's SO offensive, especially if you get to know that it is from the same person(s) every time. You know they've walked through an area even if they are not there. Long nails on a man is incredibly gross and disgusting. Guitar or not. Trim those suckers short, scrub the dirt from under them, and for crying out loud, put some lotion on your disgusting cracked and calloused hands (even if your work requires your hands to get beat up). Personally, I don't like long nails on any woman, either. Acrylic nails? What's up with that stuff?! Trim the hair (side burns, around ears, in the ears, nostrils, neck line). Trim the stuff that people probably don't see (arm pits especially, buzz them flush with a trimmer and your chosen armpit treatment will work a ton better, trust me). Brush your disgusting teeth, work on your disgusting breath. I don't like to speak to someone and feel like I have to smile, interact, while enduring the breath like a garbage truck ran over a skunk outside a trash dump. You may not have straight teeth and nice pink gums, but you can clean up the mess you DO have and reduce that mouth bacteria to an absolute minimum. And men, please close your mouth when you eat food. The sound of your smacking, sucking, clacking, crunching, is gross. And don't speak with your mouth full of food, especially when your voice is severely altered. It's just gross and puts you in a terrible light.

I have used face cream with SPF 15 (sun cream built in) From the age of 21, at 40 I have no wrinkles. Also sunglasses every day = no eye damage.

Skin care, she speaks the gospel. If it makes it easier, look for a reward if you need to. For me, I absolutely love wearing cologne, I love to smell good. It's not about compliments so much for me, I'm married, but I do believe that I'm treated better by people because of it. The cologne is the reward for me, every morning a hot shower, a good soap & face scrub, then a good lotion & the cologne (Always moisturize before you put on a fragrance).

I use a guitar pick and I keep my nails short to play guitar and keep it clean

Everything she said was true fellas, and as a guitar player 👍no you need calluses not long nails to play guitar and you should cut your nails to ensure full technique on the fretboard

On the subject of dental hygiene - as well as an electric toothbrush, it's a good idea to invest in a good whitening toothpaste and mouthwash. And an extra tip; when using mouthwash, wait at least 30 minutes after brushing to use mouthwash. Doing so will allow the fluoride in the toothpaste to do the work it needs to do on the teeth. A visit to the dentist every 6 months wouldn't do any harm. 🙂 Being a musician, long fingernails aren't necessary if playing a steel string guitar. But if playing classical guitar with nylon strings, long fingernails do help. So I would grow my fingernails on my right hand to play classical guitar but not too long!! And yes, I do keep my nails clean! 😉 I hope this info was useful!
