Because the attorney wants him too look normal in st clothes. No restraints. I personally believe he should have on his court jumpsuit and full restraints The jury needs to realize these people ate in custody of the jail. Court security has become slack. It's dangerous not to be fully restrained and yes they sneak sharp weapons in with them. The courts. Need to straighten up

What’s sad is that his children are just like him. Not one of them showed empathy for their own mother despite knowing all the evidence. The weasel son in law really got under my skin with his lies and melodramatic exaggerations.

Just to clarify for everyone - the impact statements aren’t necessarily for HIM. They’re for the victims. It’s to honor their pain, their loss, their voices, and those they love and loved. It’s not about HIM - it’s about giving them a voice.

I have a different view, that most normal people are commenting in a way where we would feel such guilt and shame for much lesser transgressions yet this man clearly demonstrates his lack of engage with remorse for those most hurt and that is hard to comprehend.

Yeah, like the earlier comment says, a big part of Chad and Lori’s motive has to do with the fact that neither of them really had any money. So if they’d just divorced they’d have nothing. Chad’s “publishing career” writing his weird LDS doomsday fiction was almost virtually unknown before this all came out. Tammy was carrying that family on $45,000 a year (estimated, considering she worked for a school). Lori never worked either. She relied on Charles for everything. She got money for JJ but that’s about it.

It was for the jurors. And her testimony of JJ IMO was what brought home 6 death penalties. JJ fought for his life from day 1, autistic or not, he was gifted, brilliant, another major scientist perhaps.

Kay has an incredible way with words. She painted the clearest pictures of JJ and Tylee I’ve ever heard. I’ve followed this case from the start and this is the most I’ve been able to picture who they were. She honored them so beautifully and I hope she knows that we will all carry them forward in our hearts.

Agreed that he doesn’t care!! But I think Chad is more of a psychopath as sociopaths have a conscience, even though it may be really small… they still have one. From what I’ve seen in the last 2 months in this trial… and from the hours and hours of recorded phone calls we heard with Chad…he lacks any sort of conscience… so he’d likely have to be a psychopath… he’s probably always been one. I would be willing to bet a large amount of money, behind closed doors, he treated Tammy terribly. I’d also bet, that was the reason for her suffering from depression. He’s where he needs to be now, for sure 💯💯👍🏼

What they are meaning is the fact that Chad is able to sit there, through each if these heart-wrenching impact statements, and show not one flinch of emotion. In some court cases, the guilty party will at least show a slight twitch, eye dart, or facial swipe. They are commenting that Chad is STONE COLD. While no one is surprised and aware of the purpose here, it is an observation like any other. Their comments are not ‘absolutely stupid’, but your admonishment is. Do better.

For Annie both her brother and niece are gone and for Kay both her brother and grandson are gone. How tragic is that? I can’t help but cry while listening to everyone’s testimony. From Tammy’s father and brother, to Kay, and so on my heart just feels heavier. I had to stop cutting flowers in my front yard cause I don’t want my neighbors to see me crying and think that something happened to me.

I’m only about 30 minutes into this video and I’m in tears. But I have to wonder from anyone who has watched the whole thing, does the killer EVER show ANY emotion??? How on earth did anyone follow him??? Zero personality, zero charisma. I just don’t get it.

I know he doesn’t care, maybe it helped the family say what they needed to say anyway? JJ’s grandma’s speech - what a tribute to JJ. Tammy’s brother’s words were hard to hear - he’s so heartbroken. Cried the whole time hearing Kay! Kay, we are so very sorry for your great losses!! But so blessed that you were given but a short time with each of them. It’s never long enough. God be with you and Larry as you continue forward on this journey we cal life. You are special people. You were given this circumstance for many purposes. I have folowed this trial from day 1 and would like to share the following thoughts. Some years ago I came across a quote by Steven Weinberg, regarding good and evil and religion it went, “With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil - that takes religion.”This is the essence of the Chad and Lori case. It amazes me that seemingly welll educated people so readily accept such religious Fiction, Fables and legends without questioning anything. The first century philosopher Celsus, wrote; "One ought first to follow reason as a guide before accepting any belief, since anyone who believes without testing a doctrine is certain to be deceived." Two thousand years later we seem to have learned nothing.

Feel so bad for Tammy's father and her siblings for having to hear about his "prediction" that Tammy would die ar a young age. The reason he made any such prediction was that he and Lori had already conspired and committed murder and their plans to get rid of Tammy were next. Chad Daybell is anything but a "visonary." His abilities only exist in his own self-proclaimed, self- important mind and even HE doesn't truly believe his own BS. He surely did not "see" Lori being forever in prison and himself getting the DP. So much for his BS power to "see" beyond the "veil."
