Always recall this game as Frank Lebeouf threw his cov shirt on the ground and spat on it as he walked off. What an arse, he should of been having a go at his keeper more than anything else CCFC SISU OUT

Same thing happened in the Prem in 1997, Chelsea played Coventry wearing the Cov away kit.

@@BobbyDick22785 nope. Dortmund were the better team in Dortmund and won 1-0 through a deflected goal. United absolutely battered them at OT. It should have been a cricket score but United couldn't finish.

Was at the game, great win, the atmosphere at Highfield Rd was so good at times, we should never have left. At the end of this game, Frank Lebouef threw his " Cov" shirt down in disgust. Up the Sky Blues,SISU OUT.

Cov was s great day out for the London clubs..off the train in the rocket and then taxis into town , followed by a dodgy walk to Highfield road....they should never have moved

I don’t get it why didn’t Conventry wear there away kit and Chelsea wear their home kit ?

I suppose it's because the home side has the right to wear their home kit, and the mess-up was Chelsea's fault because they should have brought a third kit, given that both home and away clashed.

It's not that the away kit clashed as Chelseas away kit was mostly yellow. It was that they didn't even BRING an away kit with them

Not really, they almost went down that season - only saved by an unlikely final-day win at White Hart Lane. 97-98 was a better team.

I'd say the season after this one was their best; they finished 11th and Dion Dublin was joint top-scorer. Should have gone to the World Cup that year in my opinion.
