From the original you would expect we'd be hearing the falsettos we know he can do (and that Frankie Valli was known for) but he took it in a different jazzier direction all his own, which just shows the brilliant musical sensibility and capabilities he has. My dad still sings this to my mum after 40 years of marriage... and then we all wish we hadn't witnessed it when he growls and grabs her butt afterwards.
