So glad they kept the soundtrack it never gets old

Whether this show is good or bad, I definitely think more trailers for movies and tv shows should be like this. A non-spoiler encapsulation of what the show is about, showing character dynamics and personality. So, show aside, this teaser gets an A+ in my book.

This is actually one of the most creative trailers I've seen! And the suit looks great! some positives at least.

This is definitely "the lost session" because it's something great in a sea of decent-at-best. If the editors, directors, writers, and cinematographers had only put the same effort that was put into this into the actual series, it probably wouldn't have been cancelled 3 weeks after release.

honestly, if this version introduces more people to Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts' discography, it'll be worth a watch (& listen) just for that

This looks decent so far, though John Cho is missing a lot of the charisma Spike has. I'll still give it a chance.

John Cho feels like a much older, worn-down version of Spike. He'll handle the depth nicely, but the carefree, playful vibe of Spike is missing.

John Cho has somewhat convinced me, but he's missing his confident playfulness of the anime Spike. The other two... This is a more aggressive version of Faye versus her aloof chilled con artistry, really off. Mustafa at least acts like the old man focusing on paying the bills like the anime. Probably the most accurate actor.

John Cho's deadpan here (instead of Spike's mischievous smirk), feels like he would be a better fit for a live action Gintoki from Gintama ...

This whole thing looks like Corridor Crew on a high budget.

I cant explain why, but the way this is shot it feels like a superbowl commercial for a product like Pringles or Pepsi....

I'm a huge fan of Cowboy Bebop. And I'll say this as honestly as I can. I kind of don't hate this? It feels campy but in an intentional way and is pretty much this nice little way of showing the dynamic between characters without really spoiling anything. If the show is anything like this, we might have something at least half decent on our hands. A competitor to the anime? Probably not, but still a fun time and at the end of the day, that's what I'm expecting out of this.

I feel like this director would make a great live action Lupin the Third

One of the most creative trailers I've seen. This took A LOT of coordination from the production team. Love the style and can't wait to see the live-action Cowboy Bebop. John Cho looks great as Spike.

Honestly I think the fact that John cho is older kinda helps bring a more relaxed and serious vibe to spike, some of that young carefree-ness is gone but I think the depth will make up for that. I’m not that mad about the casting

Ok so they're going for a campy 70s vibe. I can kinda see where they'd pull that out of the animation. I'll give it a chance and I think people need to remember the original anime is still there and you can still watch it. Why the hell would anyone want them to redo the animation? It's great as it is. We really don't need an anime reboot. Maybe a continuation or a prequel but a reboot? Stop

I'm not getting Spike's personality yet but hopefully that is shown in the episodes, I really hope this isn't just a mediocre adaptation

hey Netflix and crew? i waited around 22 years for this live-action to happen. all i thought when it came out was: "don't kcuf it up!" you ppl delivered the most beautiful and wonderful thing i've seen all my life. tytytyty

The editing on this clip is really cool and from the glimpse of the spaceship, the special effects look good. I question the direction the actors were given. Normally, I like John Cho but there's a difference between deadpan and dead face. It's a similar issue with Daniella Pineda. It's as it they were told to do very flat, superficial performances focused more on choreography than portraying their characters. To me, this feels more like a well-made cosplay video.

Cowboy Bebop is like Guardians of the Galaxy but if it was made by Quentin Tarantino. Legendary show

Spike: You promised me Cowboy Bebop. Well this isn't Cowboy Bebop Jett: It is when you're broke.

In a world of screenplay, where 99% of "teasers" involve an overplayed ominous music, 2 second clips of things exploding interspaced between 5 seconds of black screen with words, anything new such as this is a welcome change.

This seems to be the perfect mix of paying homage to the source material, while avoiding the cringe of being too overboard and campy like other Netflix live-adaptations of anime.

I must say, this is quite unique in the cinematography dept. The speed ramps are certainly jarring, and it felt pretty disjointed at times, but as someone below pointed out, it had the same frenetic jazzy pulse as the music. I think far too many people expected something far more "gritty" and "realistic". This in no way detracts from the original, it doesn't sully the name because the original still exists. I will always love the original, but seeing a new take is awesome. In the end, you don't have to watch it, by all means, act like this "abomination" doesn't exist, they clearly didn't make this for you. (P.S. ... I do wish John Cho was a bit more expressive, or "smooth" like the O.G. Spike).

So like as someone who has yet to watch the anime: -the editing looks clean as hell and the fight choreography shouldn’t disappoint -gut feeling that this will be a good standalone production, but a disappointment when standing next to the original for fans

The fights in this one is a lot better than the actual fighting in the show

It’s kinda giving me a Kung Foo Hustle vibe. The over exaggerating actions, and the same odd mix between serious and over the top. I’m encouraged. I don’t think this is gonna be a masterpiece like the anime but I think it has the potential to be a lot of fun if you enjoy it for what it is.

I can't express enough how well textured The Bebop is in this. Absolutely amazing artistry there. Wish I could hi-five the artist who did it.

They have support from Yoko Kanno with music, They have this damn near spot on. I am excited for this. They hit me right in the nostalgia feels, bravo.

For those of you saying charisma is missing, it’s very hard to act like an anime character when you’re a real person. Characters don’t get tired, humans do, characters also have to be brought to life so they need to be extra, humans are a live and don’t need to be extra.

I'm cautiously optimistic, this trailer was one of the most creative I've seen in a while.

I love how clearly faye shot him in the face and manipulated the other two into arguing. you can see spike go from focus to wait was I the one too shoot him in his face when she says it. then he deflects its onto jet. really well done. I actually like it and I grew up with the anime and watch it over again ever so often. People just need to try enjoy stuff. I don't understand why ppl are upset we get more, Cowboy bebop!!!!

I can't decide whether I like this or not. Though the characters to feel a bit too... energetic compared to the characters in the show. They should be charismatic, sure, but energetic? No.

Really great trailer. Amazing technical directing. But this is more like Scott Pilgrim than Cowboy Bebop which I'm not angry at but it doesn't feel like Bebop. Also why is Faye playing Jet?

I REALLY want to like this. Honestly, Jet's the only character that's more or less spot on. John Cho's playing it too seriously, and I can't even tell what the actress playing Faye is going for in her characterization. Hopefully this won't end up being another death note. We'll just have to see.

I still think it was pretty good after all. I wished they'd give it a chance to get past the early season glitches.

I could see a live action adaptation of lupin the 3rd being like this, and working beautifully. makes way more sense, has a much similar vibe to lupin the 3rd than CB... but CB is inspired partly in lupin the 3rd so...

Man this adaptation had so much potential. Makes it so much more disappointing in retrospect. The cast was almost perfect, the editing, sets, CGI, everything was so close. The fight cinematography and the MAJOR story changes were enough to tank the whole show. Let's hope the One Piece live-action doesn't make the same missteps.

I was really curious how they were going to tackle this, but so far I'm really digging the scene transitioning and general cinematography. Super wild and eclectic, just like a story based on jazz should be, and from the references I'm seeing, they seem to genuinely give a shit about putting forth the absolute best respect to the original possible. I'm very down with this.

Really fantastic planning and editing for this one, big hats off! Good to see some wing chun in there from Spike! The most fascinating thing here is the use of the original soundtrack... it's exact recordings, I wonder if they truly are just using the old soundtrack, if so, that's a huge first for film. And very good since it's a masterpiece.

Can we as anime fans just take a minute to appreciate the effort that is being given to this show, more effort than Death Note, Dragon ball Evolution, Last Air Bender. It's possible this movie could be average or dare we speak it into existence great. Now when it comes out and it isn't we can hate it collectively and scream another one bites the dust, but as of right now and looking at the trailer, it will be fun and hopefully honor the anime.

Valentine isn't the type of girl to jump directly into a confrontation. It's more like her to sit back and pull the strings from afar. This Spike Spiegel doesn't look laid back and cool enough either. Spikes all about going with the flow and being like water. Jet Black seems like the only accurate one.
