Not really. The constant promoting of Amazon is a huge eyesore. It's one thing, if he's promoting his own products on Amazon. However, if he's not promoting his own products, then he should be providing links only to the websites of the companies that make the products, and let the public decide where to buy them. Forcing tons of third-party seller Amazon links into viewers faces is a bad move.

what do you like to cook for your family? favorite meal? I live in Kansas, in the midwest USA. my personal favorite is a ribeye or sirloin smoked for an hour or so, then seared at high heat to medium rare. served with asparagus and potato....so good. I have heard that the beef from Argentina is very good.

Just want to say how much I appreciate your videos, Kent. I am a fellow Okie. I grew up in Blackwell in Kay County. Blackwell is about thirty miles east of the famous Chisholm Trail. Remnants of the trail are still visible. When you get to heaven maybe God will assign you as the cook on one of those old cattle drives. It would be my pleasure to be one of your hard-working, hungry cowboys to feed.

I'm so grateful I am subscribed to this channel and this video is one example of why. Kent blends just enough corny humor to be funny without taking it to ridiculous. As always, the "filming" is great; the editing smooth; good background music...the whole production top quality. ALL of the information needed to prepare this, along with some substitutions and options, is right in the presentation. I've seen this recipe once before (or something called Pigs in a Cornfield) but it didn't impress me as something I would want to prepare myself. This recipe I will make for sure! I live by myself, so I have to wait for a camping trip with friends or maybe some of my grandkids come over or something, but I'll be making it. And, having been cooking in Dutch ovens for quite a few years, I'll be using one for this. Thank you so very much to everyone involved!

Love watching an learning from y'all brother. I grew up on a big working farm in east texas an my grandma made what she called a western burger it was like a big yeast roll or sour dough roll filled with ground beef it had a lil mustard an mayo mixed in the beef she would put that in that roll an then bake it. Just wondering if you have ever done anything like that.

Is Amazon paying them to push sales for Amazon merchants??? PFFT. The one bad thing about this channel, and it's a BAD THING. Puts a 'sour taste' on it all. If he's going to promote products, then he should put links to the websites of the actual companies that make the products. Not links to some greedy, third-party intermediary.
@Newokie59
@Newokie59 3 жыл бұрын
@@CooManTunes Unfortunately, the vast majority of KZfaqrs who rely on merch sales as part of their income use Amazon because it is so much easier to track and yes, Amazon does pay for affiliate link clicks. Also, many manufacturers don't direct sell to the public because of the maintenance, warehousing, tracking, cust. service, shipping and the returns. Amazon takes care of it all. Another point is the advertising. The guy who makes the hash knifes; if Kent only offered the link to the his webstore, only Kent Rollins Viewers would see the webstore. Amazon opens the door to millions of potential buyers.
@CooManTunes
@CooManTunes 3 жыл бұрын
@@Newokie59 Is he making money from those links? I doubt it. Unless, they're his products. He's putting links to Rode microphones being sold on Amazon. Rode isn't paying him to do that, and neither is Amazon. If Amazon were paying him, then Rode would be, as well. Kent sells his own products. I get that. However, providing links to other Amazon sellers products is NOT good. It's just feeding the company. As I said, he should provide links to the companies that make those products, and let consumers choose where they buy the products. Don't force Amazon on viewers.
@mrtcb8530

@@Newokie59 That's not a good excuse. He's not making money from any Amazon sales that aren't his own products. He's helping third-party Amazon sellers, which helps Amazon. Pretty sad!

Kent, I made a "one-pot" two days back. You might have inspired it, but not sure (I watch too many channels.) The wife had cooked up a beef/vegetable soup. That became the base for a very tasty "cottage stew", mashed taters on top and everything. Thanks, always inspired by your techniques, even if I only use them for inspiration! Thumb is up!

Hello Kent. I used your Hickory seasoning on my smoked whiskey burgers. Oh my Lord! That was GOOD! Quick overview. 1/2 inch think patties, poke holes 3/4 through, top with Red River Ranch Mesquite seasoning, teaspoon brown sugar, a pinch of black coffee grounds, put in baking pan, top each pattie with 1 shot of your favorite whiskey and let set for 1 hour at room temperature. Through on grill and smoke 225-250 for 1 hour. Eat!

Finished off with some dollops of sourcream on top of each with some dried onion sprinkled on top. Oh so yummy. You can even spice them up, we will allow it, with some mexican rice and spicy pepper swap ins with cream cheese whipped sauce drizzled on top. Steal away. Love this one.

And I agree with what you said about chorizo, that stuff you get in a plastic tube is nasty. It has no texture, it's just greasy mush. What you want is what you got right there. Fortunately we have a lot of small authentic carnicerias here that make great chorizo the right way. Great video as always, thanks and take care.

I’m going to be fat again this winter, eating all of Kent’s recipes. My gosh, this man knows how to cook. Thank you Kent and God bless.

That dish is looking great and must be so delicious and Shannon must be ready to get her plate full and devour it. I have to try making this dish and I hope it turns out like the one you made. I want to wish you all the best and will keep you all in my prayers.

Thanks for sharing this recipe. I gave it a try today and it came out good. Really similar to a shepherd's pie in concept. I think I will try topping it with cornbread next time. I made cornbread to go with it this time and the two seem to go together well.

This looks so good but EVERYTHING you make looks so good!!! Thank you both for all of the hard work you put in on the production. That’s what I do for a living, Video production from network sporting events to videos of my children. It isn’t easy. But ordering your mesquite spatula was vey easy. Looking forward to receiving it. Thanks again! Stay safe!
