You guys are so quick to obtain the thoughts of analysts and journalists outside the organization instead of paying attention to the pattern of how the Jones move. Of course Lance is a forgotten man outside of the organization, but if you pay attention to how the Cowboys have moved since acquiring Lance you will see that they are going to give him every chance to claim the starting position in Dallas. It’s a reason the Jones haven’t drafted a qb in the top 2 rounds since 2001 (Quincy Carter) they don’t really value drafting qbs high. Lance is a 4th round steal to them that is just underdeveloped. Well look how they developer their last 2 guys that were undrafted and a mid draft pic respectfully. Even Cooper Rush has developed good for a undrafted guy. So just imagine how Lance could possibly turn out.

Kliff couldn’t make in game adjustments or game plan to save his life his entire game plan was relying on Murray to be a magic man. Murray literally carried Kliff and got him a 2nd contract but Kliff was the worst least creative play caller in the NFL. Now that Murray has a legit NFL OC in a legit NFL Offense he’s been so much with someone who can game plan and make life easier for Murray, with an excellent OL, top 5 run game and pretty loaded WR/TE Corps after AZ drafts two WRs this year in hopefully MHJ n Rome Wilson Murray will be back in the mvp conversation this year.

Every time a player's contract comes up, they go out and play the best football of their life for that season. That way, they can get the max amount of money on the next contract. Dak needs that pressure. I'm for not paying him now. It would make him too comfortable. Let him show how far he can go when the money is really on the line. If they lose again in the first round of the playoffs and he has a bad game, there's no need to keep him anyway. I'm convinced Dallas has such a good team right now, that any good 'game manager' (as my man Cam Newton so famously put it) can take them further than the first round just by not making the same mental mistakes Dak has made.

True, but next season, it’s looking like Carson Beck of Georgia, Jalen Milroe of Alabama, Quinn Ewers of Texas and Shedeur Sanders of Colorado are the 1st round options at QB (all could improve, all could get worse). Ewers needs to gain weight and be productive against good teams, Milroe will still have to fight the narrative that he got benched, and Shedeur will hope he survives the offensive line at Colorado. Yes, there always seems to be a surprise or 2 that has a great season to skyrocket up draft boards, and maybe this year’s Quarterback draft class is like 2021, but with Dak in control of his contract and teams desperate enough at quarterback that they’re willing to pay 35 year olds coming off a severe knee injury (Giants, Carolina, New Orleans, Arizona, Seattle, Miami, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Denver and Oakland could all be tempted to go with Dak depending on what they think of their current options), at least having that earlier round quarterback on the roster will allow him to adjust to the NFL to where he maybe has an easier tie picking up verbiage, noticing the hot read on a blind-side blitz, putting his teammates in easier positions to gain yards after contact and the catch.

Well, technically none of Dallas’s quarterbacks are under contract after this season (including Cooper Rush and Trey Lance). Unfortunately, on top of that, Ceedee Lamb’s upcoming contract, Micah Parsons upcoming contract and anything for Zach Martin’s extension, you have Mike McCarthy on the last year of his contract. If they fire him or let him go, there’s going to be a new offensive system/scheme in place. Some quarterbacks are more dependent on scheme than talent. Look at Russell Wilson last season. Even though his numbers were mostly better, the number of sacks increased due to his indecisiveness in hitting receiving options 2-4, his lack of using his legs to scramble, and this in spite of decent (not great) receiving options. Dallas should draft a Quarterback in round 2, but personally, I’d suggest trading down due to not having 4th or 6th round picks in trades with the 49ers and Texans, so they could still get a quality offensive tackle, a decent defensive tackle, or even upgrade their receiving corp and maybe take Spencer Rattler or Michael Penix (Bo Nix needs to be in a certain scheme/system, or else he’s a smaller version of Kenny Pickett).

Dak sits at 42% vs winning teams. A guy like Aaron Rodgers is at about 45% for context. Only 6 QBs have a higher winning percentage vs winning teams than Dak Prescott. That literally makes him a top 10 QB vs winning teams. People can diss him for not winning in the playoffs but these narratives about him are insane.

Another person to consider in this is CJ Stroud. Now, I'm not going to dispute who is better in Texas until they play this season. But Houston has looked remarkably better since they got the right QB. Nobody can dispute that. Cowboys fans might be sitting there, after all Houston has done in the past two years, and they're thinking: "Why don't we have that? Dak had his best season since the rookie year, and Dallas got washed by the Packers in the first round, WITHOUT Aaron Rodgers. Texans dog-walked the Cleveland Browns in the first round last year, with a rookie HC and QB. Now, they're gearing up to go to the big dance, with all the moves they made this offseason!" Dallas needs a new QB yesterday, not one year from now.

The other common denominator with playoff failure is Mike McCarthy. GB only managed 1 SB win in his time there with Favre and Rodgers. Think about that for just a minute and look at the way the Cowboys were destroyed by the Packers. Both offensively and defensively, players were out of position throughout the game. That's preparation, coaching and play calling. That's all on McCarthy as the HC.

Dak is about #10 Qb in league. Too good to get rid of, but not quite good enough to win a chip it seems. Playoff loss to GB when they were so young was embarrassment. But not all Daks fault. The whole team looked like they didn't know game started

I could see the Cowboys possibly drafting a QB in RD2-3 to light a fire under Dak and take over at QB in 2025 if Dak cannot have playoff success. I’d keep an eye on Michael Penix Jr if he slides to RD2 I could see Dallas trading up into the 30s for him or if not then possibly drafting QB Spencer Rattler very end of RD2 and developing him for a year before rolling with him if they think he’s capable. Jordan Travis is another solid game manager who could thrive in a west coast play action heavy system.
