When the ball goes away from them they think they are pushing it away and it gives them courage and makes them be like "yes you better run away" same with horses. My family owns the Russell Dairy and Maple farm in Rome, PA, where I spent many wonderful summers (and even a winter). I miss it so much! I loved everything about it, seriously, like waking up at 3:00 am to help my cousins and their hands tackle the morning chores (I didn’t want to be treated like a “guest”, I wanted to be involved, besides, everyone was out working EVERY DAY, and the house would have been empty), after which came the biggest breakfasts I had ever had, the HUGE farmhouse table surrounded by up to 16 people, after which the real work began. I’ll never be able to throw hay bales like the real men working the fields, but I learned some things about farmers and ranchers that most people don’t realize: A farmer must be as educated as an astronaut, because a farmer must be competent in the following disciplines (in no particular order, and I have probably missed a few): Biology Botany Animal husbandry Health science Metallurgy Mechanics Meteorology Conservation Electrical Soil management First aid Computers Irrigation and water well management Chemistry Government Accounting Projection (business estimates) Investment ...and any implied skills related to the above where farming is related. This vastly complex mix of skills is boiled down to a term which implies the specialties among these, “agriculture”, which is an industry that has brought far more innovation and advancement of technologies to humankind than the space program ever will, advancing science to a greater degree than any other industry. This is what I like to assert whenever anyone makes a crude reference to the “hayseed farmer”, or downs a degree from Texas A&M, (a school, by the way, from which many astronauts received their training, a bit light compared to the ranchers curriculum). And if humankind ever does seek to colonize other worlds, guess who will be the most critical members among the people? Yep, farmers! Thanks for a great video, this brought back a lot of fond memories!

I wasn't advocating meat eating nor their slaughter, quite the opposite... Im bringing awareness of what our meat industries have become, a debauchery; although there are honest and ethical meat producers out there they are far and few between. Its most likely the meat on your table or fridge is from a slum lord (analogy) of meat producers without the ethical and moral guidance and treatment such as above. The observation above is finding that at the very least these animals of the Earth were treated with respect, dignity and little bit of fun.

Michael Mclellan There are lots of things that animals do that aren’t generally considered alright for us to do-like going naked all the time, or having sex out in the open-and there are also lots of things that we do that other animals don’t, like wear glasses, use written language, and most importantly, have a complex sense of morality. So “animals do it therefore it’s natural therefore we can do it” is not a good argument. A bear may not be able to understand that killing an animal causes suffering, but we can. And that understanding gives us a different responsibility for our actions. Omnivorous animals kill other animals because they (1) don’t know better and (2) may starve if they don’t do so. So if you’re a human with neither of those excuses, then you might consider that when it comes to sourcing food, killing conscious beings that try to run away from you when they know what you’re about to do is more wrong than killing other living things that don’t have brains and nerves to feel pain or fear. In other words, since (unlike animals) you do have the option to not only choose, but think about what you eat (if you’re both smart enough to understand morality and wealthy enough to have alternative ways to get the nutrients you need), you maybe should consider eating fewer things that suffered in order to arrive on your plate, and replacing them gradually with more things that didn’t.
