Coyotes can adapt to any environment: desert, mountains, forest and urban areas. Amazing animal.

Coyotes aren't anywhere near endangered.... anywhere in the US. They're present in nearly every region in the country. And they don't just hunt in twos, they often carry a pack of older children of the alphas. They're not unlike wolves in that sense. Don't leave your pets out if you hear coyotes near by. Even if you have a big, strong dog. Vet bills are a factor, no matter how badass you believe your pet.

I really appreciate being able to hear the differences in the howls. I definitely hear more wolf howling. The coywolf population is doing okay in the suburbs of Boston. I love to hear the howls. My 3 (50 lbs) dogs and I had a close encounter with a coywolf recently. He/she stood on the edge of the woods and could have attacked one of my dogs, but didn't. He/she was just posturing, no aggression whatsoever. Maybe his/her pups were close by. To be able to look into the eyes of this magnificent creature for a moment was beyond exhilarating! Btw, my dogs didn't make a sound. I think they were just as much in awe as I was. We just turned around and walked away. Humans need to learn how to live with wildlife opposed to kill or slaughter. We just need to leave them alone.

I love coyotes. The coyote may be smaller, weaker and not as widespread as his cousin the wolf, but coyotes are smarter and more adaptable than the wolf. I love coyotes more than wolves, but I still like wolves. Thanks for making this video, even though I can tell the difference between the two with ease.

Wow. It is really hard to tell a coyote howl from that of a wolf pup. Those are both high pitched. I think the only way I could tell those sounds apart other than possibly length is that the coyote howl has a lot of barking in it and a wolf howl, pup or no pup, doesn't. I have never seen a wolf or a coyote in my life except for pictures and videos. But never in person. I might have seen a red fox in person once but if I did, I don't remember. Either way, I love all these wildcats and wild dogs. In fact, I love all animals, even ones that are annoying like mosquitoes. The only animals I try to actively kill are flies and even then, only when there is a high population in my house. Spiders I allow to be in my house and in fact I once tried to use a spider to help control fly population. My pharaoh hound kind of looks like a fox, coyote, wolf, and domestic dog, all rolled into 1. Her face looks like that of a fox. Her fur color is similar to that of a coyote, her fur thickness and overall size is similar to that of a wolf. But she is completely domesticated and she really loves me. She comforts me when I am sick or hurt, protects me from people trying to pick on me, and sometimes she warns me of something outside(usually raccoons). She never hurts animals when she goes after them, just intimidates them with her barking and running.

The music, in my opinion, was great for this video! I think it would have been better to label the "howls" as which was which, but I was able to find it out by reading the comments, where you replied to another user asking the same question. I did learn a bit from your video, however, I'm in southern New Mexico and we are hearing what I believe to be coyotes, but when we saw them earlier in the say they were a lot larger than I've ever seen in Texas, New Mexico, and California.

coyotes run away from you but wolves will attack you on sight.

Interestingly enough, or perhaps worrying, is the phenomenon in North America of wolf/coyote hybrids which are colloquially referred to as coywolves. They are apparently a growing issue, as they have some of the "best" traits of both species, making them a greater hazard in some cases.

Coyote is a smaller wolf. Wolf is a bigger coyote. That's all.

Coyotes aren't a near threatened species. Their population and territory has expanded many times over since Europeans colonized the Americas. Populations were restricted to the southwestern United States and some of Mexico. They can now be found coast to coast and even in parts of Canada. They're also listed as "least concern" by the IUCN. Coyotes are one of those oddities that thrive while in proximity to humans.

Hi, thanks for the video! Just want to point out that wolves all over the world have developed hugely diverse sizes shapes, colours and behaviour patterns. European wolves for example look and behave different and have retreated to the forests.

You should have also added the Eastern Coyote (1/2 coyote and 1/2 eastern wolf) smaller than wolf but a lot bigger than coyote.

idk what the animal I saw in our yard was but it was big, fluffy, and they hunt deer including bucks and adults. Their howl sounds like a coyotes howl, definitely not as deep as a wolf's, but they are pretty big

Basically: Coyotes are the ones you need to run over, the Wolves are the ones you need to stay away from when you're on a fucking mountain during a snowstorm

Yes I was right like German Shepard i think we're bread with coyotes and wolves for centuries cause coyotes and German Shepard got pointier ears and bodies except starving but still hunts alittle to survive despite it's yellow pausing eyes like cartoon character it does survive and it's skinnier on legs but has German Shepard but skinnier version of it from only little eating the German Shepard has also body frame similar but more fIlled out and not starving and legs skinnier but more masculine not starving and bushy tail like jackel and other similarities they say the German Shepard and coyote are more closely related to each other and breed and wolves and huskies have shorter pointy ears and they say that breed is more closely related of course to coyotes to but stick to each of it's group but some times mate with wolves and when that happens and when it happened back then even though had domestic dog realities which also came from wolf ancestors mated with wolf coyote mix with the dog and made German Shepard out of it coyote half way resemblance the germanshepard are clever and that like it's coyote ralitives for police hunting protecting etc they got Wiley coyote ancestor in them but don't walk like a human though
