I know I mentioned last week about my fear of the knife, so I am not sure if this particular painting was directed toward me and others that do not understood how to use the palette knife, but this helped so much more! I tried a cabin using this vid from about 33 mins on one my practice canvases, and you were like "let the angle of the knife help" WOW Last week mountains, this week buildings.. AWESOME Brandon, let the tools do the work as intended. THANK you again for your simplicity of teaching.

Mr Thomas, thanks, you're awesome. Request. It's 1912 ,middle of the Ocean and there's a silhouette of a big scary,mountain , floating in the sea. Or ,have you already done that. Iceberg, with maybe some seals or penguins, and polar bears .lol. not. A badass Iceberg, in a raging ocean would be breathe taking.

Does the canvas have anything to do with how your texture comes out? I just started oil painting and I'm doing the same techniques but they don't come out as good. I grab the cheapest canvases that Michael's had so I was wondering if that's my issue?

judging by your picture, you are only like 10 months old! stick with it and by the time you are 2 or 3 you will be painting like one of the old masters!

I think a day/night painting would be cool....maybe a two parter. So do the same scene but half is day time with day sky and clouds and colors and whatnot then as seamless as possible have the other side be night time. Things like connected clouds and trees split down the middle etc.
