It's interesting to think back to the early 80s when these little 1,200 sq ft bungalows were around 50,000. Oh how times have changed.

Such a nice little place on a canal near open water. I can visualize a 23' Center Console on that lift. 🙂 It would be a dream to live in the keys but a SW Florida retirement is more of a reality. Its nice to dream, isnt it?

I knew a few people that had home's in Orlando that had a mobile home or a camper built into them.For about $650,000.00 less twenty years ago.

Yeah, historically real estate goes up! But regardless, Orlando is a completely different market than the FL Keys.

I know, it’s WILD! I feel sorry for any new buyers trying to get into homeownership.. it’s so difficult 😣 I think the good ole day deals are passed us.. but who knows?! Maybe things will change in the future.

@@FLKeysMadeleine Nice chatting with you.Our first new house in East Orlando FL cost was $77,500 in 1988. Now worth a half a million without a swimming pool. Almost unbelievable I wonder if my ex-wife kept it or sold it.The real estate sign was only up for a couple weeks anyhow.I sure miss the seafood and the variety of quality restaurants in Florida.✌️🩵⛵

However, homeowners insurance would probably be around $1k/year (varies on how much contents coverage you want to carry). The seller said this home did not flood during Irma though! Different strokes for different folks I guess haha! Don’t need much living sqft here, we’re outdoors most of the time anyways, & prefer to live year round where we like to vacation… demand drives our market and it’s high for a reason. We appreciate you watching though! 🤗

the Keys are for people who want to retire to enjoy the last 10-20 years of their lives.. why? because in about 30-40 years that home will be washed away and in about 50-100 years the Keys will be mostly submerged. If you ain't a senior citizen.. consider more inland.. if you're over 65, I wholeheartedly hope you enjoy a scenery that no one after you will be able to witness.

@@FLKeysMadeleine .. for how many more decades.. ? chances of grandkids living in such places after inheriting the property.. wont be much left during their lifetime. Especially if you knew about all the eroding limestone that Florida and its islands rest on ;).. take it from a fellow Floridian with family near the area you're advertising. For your own sake I wholeheartedly hope you successfully find yourself a more feasible and more long-term real estate market in the near future.

This is not a double wide home lol.. 🙃 it’s a custom frame build that’s listed for $729k, not $800k. You clearly are not educated on our market or this home. Perhaps working with a local agent would be very helpful for ya!

Used to live in Keys. Summerland. Was there for Hurricane Andrew and filming of TRUE LIES. Those canals are filled with jellyfish, so not beach front. and access to beaches are mostly on Resort properties except Key West. Cute house but not for almost a Mil.

Oceanside canals can have jellyfish from time to time, so I'm not sure which canal you were in. This canal stays clean since it's tucked into the neighborhood more.
