Wasn't there for the vote, but if I had to guess... To be perfectly honest, while people can suspect that it was about "Jardon never lives in a nice house in minecraft!" I'd rather reason it with the _truth_ that none of the skyblock maps, or worlds he's played has ever started on anything 'bigger' than the old vanilla classic map. He's played on maps as small as the Anarchy one already, and _smaller_ with the One Block series he recorded as the most recent "sky" anything survival challenge. If the people voted for a cute, cozy little sky island cottage, it was very probably because they themselves thought it would be that bit of variety a skyblock gamemode usually lacks at the start. If nothing else, it gave this first episode some really good click-through.

The advantage to not watching episodes as soon as they come out is being able to binge watch. The disadvantage is there is no point in pointing out that compressing the cobblestone and using a compressed hammer is way faster and sieving resultant gravel is faster at getting flint.

If you make a Cutting Board from Farmer's Delight, you can right click gravel onto it, then right click with a shovel to break it instantly. If you hold gravel in your off hand and your shovel in your main hand, you can just hold right click and you'll go through all of your gravel insanely fast. And it does produce flint. Even better, it produces flint without even using up the gravel. Get enough gravel to ensure your off hand never empties (should just need two pieces) and you can hold right click until your shovel breaks and get tons of mostly free flint. This is a lot faster than breaking gravel normally. You can also just make a string mesh and sieve the gravel in it. You aren't guaranteed to get flint with each piece and you do lose the gravel, but you can get flint this way. And unlike other skyblock packs, flint is not the only drop using gravel on a string mesh, so you can still get some ore chunks and not just waste gravel. But I find the Cutting Board to be the best option, since you can also use it to strip logs the same way (useful for Create already), getting Bark that you can use (alongside Straw, dirt, and bonemeal) for Organic Compost to get Rich Soil, which grows your crops much faster. And trust me when I say you will need a lot of bark to make a proper farm with Rich Soil. You can also use the Cutting Board with Rice Panicle and a Knife to get Straw and Rice for cooking or expanding a rice farm, though you can also automate this with a millstone from Create. Also, in this pack, Twerking does not just grow trees, but all plants. So twerk to grow sugarcane or even wheat.

Integrated dynamics is in the pack as an early game storage option, remember Tom's isn't the only one there's tons of different ones to check for Edit:seems like is a pain to get and rs is basically just as hard so he's going for that

So i just started atm9sky today, and I decided to watch this vid just to see how it started for you, and even tho im starting my coal generator i still deff learned a thing or two from this vid 😂 I had no idea you were supposed to mine the ore blocks like normal, ive been just putting them in the furnace and wondering how the ore hammer is supposed to help 😅😅 Also, knowing about getting pebbles from grass would have saved me a LOT of composting dirt....💀

I tried REALLY hard to play this mod pack with some friends, and my attention span struggles. I go to focus on botania and then 20 minutes later im deep into building a house, and then I remember "Oh yea, I wanted to do this mod.", and then get destracted because I could tame slugs.

Sparklez tosses the petals over the side and I suddenly remembered why I really don't like watching him play skyblock.

i have learned that this pack yet again has set chunkloading to only work while at least one player of the team is online. so for anyone thinking of setting up a server to not have the game running in the background all the time, you gotta go change that first.

I tried to give this series a shot, but I couldn't even make it past the first episode. I guess that series like Steampunk and Deceased Craft have set a new bar that other series just don't reach. I'm not sure if it's the guns or just the environment of the two previous series that outshine the feel of more Skyblock type games. I hope Captain Sparklez continues to do more of the complicated modpacks with different types of environments.

I lately have been playing Dungeons Dragons and Space Shuttles. A not popular modpack because it modifies all recipes to be harder. But I've been having fun with it lol. I mean, for goodness sakes, you even get 2 sticks instead of 4 from planks.

wandering traders have some insane trades in this pack, came across one with a scav 5 looting 5 sharp 10 diamond sword for 32 membranes and 64 diamonds. diamond sword pretty meh but scav 5 looting 5 is crazy
