Thanks for the preface of the book! I think one of the reasons why I’ve especially steered away from Booktok recs is because of the lack of tw’s! Not many people go in depth with some of the popular books and what you can stumble upon while reading those sort of stories that contain such heavy topics so I really appreciate it that you mentioned it! I personally like to go into books blind and search for trigger warnings myself. I think that every responsible reader should do the work to look up trigger warnings if they know they are easily triggered. A lot of people like myself feel like trigger warnings are plot spoilers and would rather again, go in blind and knowing as little as possible from the story but just knowing that our favorite book reviewer gave it a really high rating. That’s the whole reason I watch these kinds of videos love

Totally ! That’s basically what I was saying, I just think people who make videos and give high ratings to books with trigger warnings should specify that there are trigger warnings in the book so people can have the option to look them up rather than be blindsided bc someone only said the book was a high rating. That’s why I didn’t specify the triggers in this book to avoid spoilers, I just don’t feel comfortable giving a book a high rating without acknowledging that there could be possible triggers first bc I wouldn’t want ppl to think i’m glorifying any intense triggers as this book definitely had them if that makes sense ☺️🫶
